Making A Fire - Foo Fighters

Mina POV

-----

I stood in the center of the room, feeling their eyes on me. I could see them in the mirrors, tears, and smiles all around. "Sweetheart, you look absolutely beautiful!" Venus said, grinning from ear to ear.

I turned, looking at myself from the side. "Doesn't make me look fat?"

"Shut up," Jessica laughed, bouncing Cait on her knee. She leaned down and said to her, "Tell Mommy to stop saying shit like that." Cait started babbling and giggled, making the room fill with laughter.

The seamstress looked me up and down and said, "I can let out the middle if you want."

I shook my head, running my hand over my stomach. "No, I think it's alright," I smiled. "It's better than alright. It's...perfect." I turned away from the mirrors and looked around at the bridesmaids. "Your turn," I chuckled as I stepped into the dressing room to take the dress off.

Stepping back out, I took Cait from Jessica and sat down in the chair she was sitting in. Wendy was the first to step out from the rooms. The light olive green dress looked amazing on her. Brooke and Jessica came out at the same time. The dresses looked great on them too. Jessica's darker olive green needed to come in in the middle so she stepped up onto the platform in front of the mirrors. Venus came out and then Lyla behind her.

Cait was babbling, playing with her rattle. "They do look beautiful!" I chuckled, kissing her cheek. "No! Don't say that about Aunt Jess!"

Jessica turned around. "What'd she say about me?" she asked, terror across her face. "What'd she say?"

I laughed, "She didn't say anything." Jessica turned around, glaring at me the whole way. "She said you look great," I chuckled.

"Sure she did," she scoffed.

After they finished with their dresses and changed into their clothes, we walked out to our cars and said our goodbyes. Jessica hopped into the front seat, looking back at me as I buckled in Cait. I got into the driver's seat and started the engine.

She put her sunglasses on and chuckled, "Final fitting." I nodded, pulling out of the parking spot. "One week." I nodded again, staring at the road ahead. "You think you're ready for it?"

" 'Course!" I laughed. "Why do you ask?"

"Just making sure," she sighed. "I mean, we know why you're getting married."

I looked over at her and asked, "Why's that?" then turned back to the road. "What're you talking about?"

She shrugged, squeezing her knees a little bit. "Nothing, never mind."

"Say it," I ordered, turning down onto Main Street. "Say it, Jess."

Jessica looked out her window and mumbled, "Because of Cait." I slammed on the brakes, skidding in the road, hearing horns from behind, and cars swerving around us. "What the fuck?" she yelled.

"No! You what the fuck?" I screamed, turning the hazards on. "What the fuck is that supposed to mean?"

She said, "You're only getting married because of Cait."

I scoffed, "No, we're not!" Looking over at her, I sneered, "You know all the shit we've been through and how much we love each other!"

"You're right!" she exclaimed. "I do know all the shit you went through! How he cheated and you two broke up and got back together because you were pregnant! Now, you're getting married as a result of that!"
