Hate Me - Blue October

-----

Mina walked up to her study hall on the other side of the building. Last class of the day and barely heard from Chibs. She couldn't wait to be done so she could go see him.

As she walked down the hall, she took a sip of her coffee, bobbing and weaving around the teenagers. One kid came running down the hall hitting her, spilling her coffee everywhere.

"Oh, sh*t," the kid whispered. "Sorry, Miss S."

Looking at the coffee on the floor and all over her, she swallowed her rage, thinking about the girl she beat up at Red Woody. "Get to class."

She threw her paper coffee cup away and grabbed the wet floor sign, putting it over the puddle. She walked to the bathroom and grabbed a stack of paper towels and cleaned up the floor, before going back to her path to class.

Mina sat down at the desk at the front of the room, staring over the sea of kids. She didn't mind study hall; it was on the second floor so she could see out the window to the road, watching the world go by. She saw a group of Harleys go by and wondered where the guys were going.

A kid walked over to her and said, "Miss S?" She spun around to look at him. "I finished the book," he sighed, handing her the book she and Chibs got from the library. "Thanks again for getting it."

"No problem," she smiled taking it from his hand. "What did you think of it?"

He looked at the book and then back up at her. "Sad." He shook his head. "It's a sad love story that you want a good ending for but it only makes you sadder."

Mina chuckled, "But did you like it?"

"No," he sighed. "I mean, yes, I liked it. But, I don't know. Just made me...feel bad." He looked back up at Mina and said, "Thanks for getting it for me." He went back to his desk and pulled out a notebook and started writing something.

"Anytime," she sighed.

An hour later, the final bell rang, releasing the teachers and students back into the world. Mina walked out to her car, trying to call Chibs. When he didn't answer, she figured he'd text her when he had a chance.

Chibs declined Mina's call as he got off his bike. He and Jax had to talk to Nero about a pimp who was threatening some of the girls at Red Woody.

"And what do you want with Greensleeves?" Nero asked. "Or shouldn't I ask?"

"Just wanna talk to the fella," Chibs shrugged.

Nero nodded, "Yeah, semiautomatic discussion?"

"He's threatening a few of the girls. Innocent people are going to get hurt, that's the truth," Jax explained.

Nero shrugged, "Adam Greenblat. He's been in the game for a while."

"You know where he hustles?" he asked.

"Out on Mission. Near the Blade," Nero said.

Jax asked, "You think you could I.D him?"

"Oh, yeah," he nodded. He walked around to the driver seat while Jax and Chibs got on their bikes. "Yo, when it's done, I need ten minutes. Diosa stuff," Nero sighed, opening his door.

"Okay," Jax nodded.

Mina drove up to Red Woody, expecting them to be up there. Instead, she walked in on a shoot she could never unsee. Lyla said they may be at Diosa, so Mina drove over there. Her wild goose chase didn't end there.
