Amnesia Valley - Geneva
Mina's POV
----
Chibs did not like being called Daddy apparently, or maybe he just didn't like being confused with my father. Maybe both.
We walked out of his apartment building and to my car. Honestly, it was weird sitting in the passenger seat of my own car. But, I liked having him drive. He was so chivalrous it was insane. Opened every door for me, drove me everywhere whether it be in my car or on his bike, kissing my forehead, giving me his jacket, walking on the outside of the sidewalk. He made me feel adored and wanted me to feel safe and protected.
He opened up the car door for me and then walked around to the driver seat. After he started the car, he laughed, "Please, never do that again."
"Why? You didn't like it, Daddy?" I giggled.
He turned in the seat to face me. Giving me his classic smile with a wink, he said, "There's a time and a place for it."
His smile was the purest thing I've ever seen in my life. It was a small sh*t-eating grin that made dimples in the center of his cheeks. His eyes crinkled and lit up. When someone looked at him, no expected him to smile like that, smile at all even. It didn't seem to fit his personality, yet it did. Chibs had two different personalities, his club persona and then what he was like away from the club. I liked them both, the angry biker and the sweet, gentle boyfriend who was overprotective most of the time.
He would kill for me, I could see it in his dark chocolate eyes. I mean, he beat up those kids in the bar because he didn't like how they were acting towards me. But, I never felt like I was in danger when I was near him. I felt worshipped by him and if someone didn't treat me right, he'd take care of it.
"And when is that?" I asked.
"Oh," Chibs laughed, "I think ya know when it is."
So, he did like it, just in the right context. I made note of that as he started driving down the street to the store. As he drove, he grabbed my hand, holding it on the center console. His hands were confusing to me; calloused, but soft, strong, but gentle. His fingers intertwined with mine as he rubbed his thumb over the back of my hand.
When he pulled into the parking spot, he asked, "What d'ya need to get?"
I chuckled, "Nothing much."
I started to get out of the car, but Chibs got out first, opening the door for me. I looked up and smiled at him as I got out. Once I was standing, he put his arm around me as was walked. That was my favorite feeling in the world, his arms being around me.
As we walked through the store, he kept grabbing random things and asking if we could buy them. He always made me laugh with either the things he said or what he did. I think he made me laugh though because he liked hearing it. Anytime I would laugh, a smile would creep onto his face at the sound of it.
"Couldn't I just get this?" he chuckled, holding an avocado.
I laughed, "Why?"
"Make somethin' with it."
"Do you even like avocados?" I asked, looking for the best red pepper.
He chuckled, "No," while setting it back down in the bin. Chibs always joked that I acted like a child, I think mostly because of my age. But, he is the one that acted like a six-year-old. He scratched the back of his head and took the pepper from my hand. "What're ya makin' with that?"
"Chili," I answered, taking it from him and putting it in the basket. It was starting to get too heavy for me to carry so he took it out of my hands. "If you think you're ready for my chili, you're not, because it's f*cking good," I boasted.
