Chapter 58: Co-Op Grinding

Having finished with all the available quests on this floor it was back to my usual grinding routine for me, with the Mid-Floor Area Boss gone I could now spend my time in the second half of the Field.

And now I'm not too far away from needing to go into the Labyrinth for my exp at this point.

So I'm nearing the point where I am at the maximum level worth chasing for on this floor again, afterwards I suppose would be a good time to do that quest with Asuna.

I've also promised to help Sachi with private Spear lessons, and Argo asked me to spend some time with Silica... maybe another cheesecake outing? Oh! I should be able to make some now, what with this floor finally giving us a proper form of sugar that isn't stuck inside a flower, it was so inefficient and such a drag to get enough for a basic recipe- plus the whole flower had to go in which messes up the flavour and consistency... frankly I'm glad I never have to go Sweet-Flower hunting ever again!

???: "Never seen you miss an attack like that before! Don't worry, I've got it!"

Y/N: "Rain? What are you doing out here?"

Rain: "What? I don't just sit around in the town like some sort of Merchant! I'm always out in the Field!"

Y/N: "s-Sorry, what I meant was... what are you doing this far out in the Field this early?"

Rain: "Rude! hehe! . . . If you must know though, I'm keeping my promise: to catch up to you!"

Y/N: "Is that it?"

Rain: "'Is that it?' The nerve! hehe! No, I plan to make a name for myself with the big clearing guilds... well, the should-be big clearing guilds I guess; you don't exactly give them a chance to beat it before you solo them all!"

Y/N: "It's just that I started earlier so I have a time advantage is all... if I was slower they would have caught up to me by now for sure."

Rain: "You're always so modest! You're great at this, you should just take the compliment... please?"

Y/N: ". . ."

Rain: "Anyways... whilst we're here like this... you uh- you wouldn't mind teaming up with me again? Just like we did back then?"

Y/N: "mmmm..."

Rain: "Pleeeeease?"

Y/N: "w-Wouldn't it be better to stay solo for the better exp gains? If you're this far out here already I can only assume that you can handle the monsters... right?"

Rain: "Weeeeell... not exactly."

Y/N: "What does that mean?"

Rain: "ah... ummmm, well I guess I am a little bit out of my depths here... but with you by my side I'm sure I'll level up quick enough!"

Y/N: "And if I don't?"

Rain: "I know you. You wouldn't leave me, a defenceless girl, out here!"
