One Hundred Eighty Three

  "Cho's friend, Marietta was the one who snitched" Harry said to our group in the common room "she had the word 'sneak' written in giant purple pimples all over her face"

  "Good job Hermione" Ron said

  "Good job to Fred and George really" she said "they came up with the punishment"

  "But Dumbledore..."
Everyone looked at me
  "He's really gone?"

  "He is" Harry said solemnly "he took off when they threatened to arrest him and now—"

  "And now Umbridge is our headmaster" I said sinking into my seat
Fred held my hand softly

  "This is bad" Ron said

  "To make matters worse, she has a group called The Inquisitional Squad" Harry stated "it's filled with Slytherins, Draco included"

  "You saw him catch Harry" Fred said

  "I know what I saw, I'm sure there is an explanation for him joining. He doesn't like Umbridge either"

  "That's not how it looked from the office" Harry said

  "He's a good person, I don't need you telling me otherwise"

  "I'm just looking out for you"

  "I don't need it" I said getting up from the chair
I walked towards the common room door

  "Where are you going it's curfew" Hermione said concerned

  "I'm finding Draco"

  "He said he wanted space"

  "I know what he said"

  "So give him space Cora" Fred said

I let go of the door handled and walked upstairs
I avoided my friends, I just walked straight to my bed and curled up in my large blanket

I didn't sleep
I just stared up at the ceiling until Hermione joined me and we stared up at it together

  "With Umbridge making rules now, you are going to have to be more careful" she reminded me

  "I don't care if she punishes me, she's awful"

  "I care if she does, Fred does, Draco does too"

  "He's not even talking to me right now"

  "But he still cares"

The next morning I noticed more points had been taken from the three houses
Montague was walking passed Harry and I talking about how him and Pucey took points off of Angelina for being a captain
  "We can take points for any reason, what about Lupin?" Montague said staring at me

  "How many points does being a whore take off? 50 at least" Pucey said

I went to go walk up to them but Harry pulled me back
  "Not worth it" he whispered to me

I let Harry walk me down the hallway and away from the two of them

  "This is bad" Ron said meeting up with us "not even us, Prefects can fix this shit"

  "They tried taking points from us" Hermione said pointing to a small group of Slytherin's with an IS pin
  "Too bad Prefects can't lose points, but we sure can't give them out fast enough"

  "Did you hear what Fred and George are going to do today?" Ron said

We continued walking down a suspiciously empty hallway
I looked around the hall and saw two smirking twins staring back at us
  "we're about to find out" I said running for a corner
I grabbed Hermione but let Harry and Ron run for themselves

Loud explosions went off around us, including a light show from fireworks
The twins had set off an enormous amount of fireworks down this hallway and into the next

  "What is happening!?" Umbridge yelled coming out of her office

A few fireworks went right for her face but she ducked in time
She looked back and forth trying to find the source of them but was unsuccessful

  "Help me get rid of these!!" She yelled at Professor Flitwick who just showed up in the hallway

He shrugged his shoulder
  "Can't, I don't have the skill" he smirked

  "Argh!!" She yelled "Filch!!"

Filch stumbled out of her office and tried to get rid of them as well, with no luck
His broom wasn't reaching high enough and as someone without magic he couldn't do much more than that

Harry Ron Hermione and I all sat in our corner laughing while we watched Umbridge ducking and throwing spells at the explosions that wouldn't give up

  "They're incredible" Ron said "bloody brilliant"

  "Fred told me they aren't going to finish this year" I said smiling "they're going to go out with a bang I just know it"

My group of friends walked in the explosions and into the court yard to get a better view of Umbridge's struggle
She even recruited some of her group in the effort, but no one but the twins could stop it
I'm sure the other Professors would as well, but they didn't want to help her
They loved this just as much as we did

I felt someone come up behind me
They placed a hand on my shoulder and then pulled me into the abandoned room that I was hiding near
  "Let me g—" I was going to say until I felt familiar warmth "Draco?"
Warmth...that means he still loves me

  "Cora I need to make this quick" he said looking back and forth
He shut the door behind us and pressed me lightly into the wall
His face was so close to mine
I went to put my hand on his cheek but he pushed it back down
  "Cora"

  "I was worried you hated me now...why are you in this group what's happening?"

He shook his head
  "I can't talk much about it, I didn't want to be apart of it just know that. Now" he said looking into my eyes with a serious glare "are you in that group that Potter created? Tell me honestly"

I gulped
I can trust him

  "Cora if you don't tell me truthfully I can't protect you"

  "Well..." I looked passed his eyes but he pulled my face back to his

  "You are, aren't you?"

  "Why does it matter? Draco I missed you I was afraid I'd never speak to you again"

He sighed
  "I just needed some time, I'm sorry. But you need to know something, Umbridge is the head of the school now. She has it out for you, you need to watch yourself she is looking for any reason to expel you or worse. This group that Potter created is a good way for her to complete that goal. Don't be stupid around her ok? I'm telling you this because I care and I can't help you if she catches you, she has me in a bad spot, half the Inquisitional squad is after you as well. I will do what I can to protect you but please watch your back"
He kissed my forehead, lingering for a little longer than usual
  "Cora I love you stay safe I don't know if I'll be able to see you again...things are complicated now"

He opened the door and took off in the cloud of smoke
I touched my forehead and then closed my eyes
  "He still loves me"
I felt my heart return to normal at that thought
