Divination has became a favor class for me, Professor Trewlaney helped me to keep emotions out and since then I have felt her being friendlier with me
Somehow my predictions in her tea and orbs have been lighter, almost like she's asked the universe for an easier life on my part

Today was different

I sat with Harry and Ron per usual, Neville tried finding another seat but ended up beside me
Draco takes this class too, Neville never looked so uncomfortable
Good

We were reading tea leaves to end the month, every month was the same
She wanted a prediction for how our next few weeks would go
I partnered with Neville, Ron partnered with Harry
I swear Ron is doing this on purpose
I took Neville's tea and swapped for mine, he refused to make eye contact with me
Part of me was sad about his reaction, I used to enjoy his company
The other part of me was happy he got the hint

"Alright Neville, looks like you're going to..." I moved his cup around "fail? Is that what this means?" I asked Professor Trewlaney who was walking around looking at all our mugs

"Oh my dear boy" she said smacking his shoulder "your cup has severe rejection" she tisked and walked away

"Sounds right" he said solemnly "Cora...your cup uhm" he moved it around awkwardly "Professor what is this?"

She walked back over and he handed her my cup
She dropped it almost immediately
The whole room turned to look, I tried not fidgeting under everyone's worried looks
The emotions in the room were overbearing I shut them off almost immediately
"My sweet dear...you're future was looking so bright"

"Was?" I asked
I felt Draco's stare on me the most

"You will be faced with a great heartbreak soon...are you seeing anyone?"

"No" I said quickly
Harry looked at me with raised eyebrows, I swear it felt like he could read minds

"Your father is he well?"

"He was here today visiting me, so I think?"

"Hmmm...well be careful this isn't a pleasant thing to see in tea leaves"

I nodded my head and slouched into my chair
Ron's fortune was read by Harry, he said Ron would uncover a great love
He rolled his eyes
"Hopefully it's not Lavender" he whispered to us "she hasn't stopped glaring at me, think she still likes me?"

"That's not a friendly look, so no" I said looking at Lavender who snapped her quill in half
I quickly looked away and listened for Harry's prediction
Ron told him he would be in danger soon, Harry was always in danger according to his leaves
Well Harry's always in trouble so...

Class ended and I stayed behind to talk to Professor Trewlaney
I waved Harry and Ron away, Ron looked apprehensive of leaving me
"Really it's ok, I have a free period next I'll probably just be at the library studying"

"I'll wait it's ok, Harry and I have ancient ruins but it won't matter if we're late"

"Or don't be late at all and go to class?" I said confused

Harry looks confused about Ron's refusal as well
Ron whispered something to Harry who's mood changed from tartness to bitter
"Well don't keep me out" I said annoyed "I can feel the shift in your emotion"

"Don't worry about it" Harry said "we will stay and keep you company"

"You will go to class" Professor Trewlaney said coming up to my group "we have much to discuss and don't need you two hanging around"

"Really I'll be fine, unless you know something I don't?"

They both looked at each other and shrugged
"No, uhm" Ron said "you're just going to the library?"

"Well maybe now I'll find somewhere else to go be"

"No" Harry said sharply "go to the library or actually go to the common room"

"You're not my guardian" I said crossing my hands "don't tell me what to do"

The professor came over and pushed them out of her room
"Go, or else it's detention with whatever the universe deems worthy"

They both left the room, but I could tell they were still in the hallway
I went into Professor Trewlaney's office, she had chamomile tea waiting for the two of us
I heard her open the hatch leading to the stairs for her classroom and yell at Harry and Ron for standing there still
I sipped my tea peacefully knowing i wasn't in trouble with them

"Those boys won't leave you alone will they? Should we see what the stars think is so troubling?" She asked taking her seat in front of me

"No I think I'll let fate take its course"

She smiled
"How are you feeling? Are the emotions still freely moving around in your aura?"

I nodded my head
"Thanks to you truly, I love having the option to turn them off. But my favorite moments are when I'm alone with someone and I can let their emotions fully in. It's like reading their mind"

"It's a wonderful gift that I'm glad you possess" she stirred something into her tea "I know I shouldn't but I don't have classes for the rest of the day"
I noticed it was a bottle of liquor I couldn't read the name

"I don't blame you honestly. I used to drink heavily, it was a comfort for me"

"It's poison really" she said solemnly
I felt her emotions pour into me, metallic sadness filled my soul
"I'm glad it no longer serves you. You're too young to be addicted to something so heavy"

"I had a hard time coping with loss, is that when you started?"

"Yes, but its not only for a bad reason. Drinking helps me to clear my mind and let in visions that I may be missing with a sober head"

"How wonderful" i said sipping my tea

I spent my entire free period talking to the professor, her life was lonely and I'm glad I was able to provide comfort in our small sessions.
I left her office, climbed down the latter gently and felt someone grab my leg to help sturdy me down
I looked to see who to thank, but the thank you was stuck inside my mouth
"Don't touch me"
