Two Hundred Thirty Two

I pulled back my arm and swung at his face
My fist connected to his nose, I don't think he expected me to hit him or he would have done a better job at dodging me
I noticed Crabbe and Goyle chuckled at the now bleeding Blaise, Draco showed no emotion still
"You filthy creature" Blaise said to me "you'll pay for this"

I kicked him in the stomach, making him fall down to his knees
I got eye level with him
"I'm not going to pay for shit" I said shoving him to the ground
With the full moon being tonight I was surprised to feel this much energy

The door opened and Ron came out in his uniform
Blaise got back onto his feet, per usual I was being towered over by the males near me
But for once I felt strong enough to hold my own
Ron noticed my bruised hand and Blaise's bloodied face
"What's going on?" He asked me

"Nothing that concerns you Weasel" Draco said his first words since he arrived with his group

Ron glared at Draco
"Control your friend" he glanced at Blaise "I'm sure Cora didn't start this fight but I'm proud of her for ending it"

"You so sure about that?" He baited "filthy half breed" he glared at me
My mouth dropped wide open
Crabbe and Goyle had no reaction to his words, they just stood by their best friend

"Shut up" I said back

"What it's true, what did I ever see in you? Did you have me under a spell these last few years??" His eyes were cold, I felt nothing from him still

Ron shoved Draco
"Fuck you Malfoy"

"Filthy whore" he said to me

I grabbed my wand from my pocket and with tears forming in my eyes I sent a hex his way
"Depulso" I pointed my wand at Draco, my curse sent him flying back into the other end of the train

Ron laughed but I didn't
Draco's never used harsh words against me...I've never used my wand against him
Today marked a moment that neither of us would forget
His friends ran to his side, Blaise laughed at Draco's expense too
I picked my wand back up
I sent a leek jinx at him, leeks sprouted from both of his ears
I knew it was painful I had seen Fred use it on a slytherin before
I knew the only remedy for the jinx was time, when the leeks were fully grown they would leave his ears
That wouldn't be for hours

Ron took my hand and walked back to the compartment with me
He stayed congratulating me the whole walk back, he didn't take into consideration my breaking heart
He told Harry about our encounter when we got back, Harry went on telling me he was right about Draco
"He's a death eater I'm telling you Cora it's better this way"

"Harry stop" Hermione said to him
I stared out the window for the rest of the train ride
When sleep did find me, my mind kept conjuring Draco face
I kept seeing his smile turn sour
His warmth turned cold
His hands on my throat the way Corban's used to be
My mind wouldn't wake, it wanted me to feel haunted
I should have known my happiness was temporary

Lavender waited for Ron off of the train, she was bouncing around waiting to hold his hand
I felt Ron's emotion sting my throat, he was annoyed at her
She wasn't though, she radiated warmth
"Ronnie!!" She yelled

Hermione rolled her eyes, mine seemed to follow suit
I didn't mind Lavender but it was plain to see Ron held no feelings for her anymore
I was more annoyed that he was leading her on
Harry and Ginny opted for walking together, the power couple they are
I went for Hermione's hand, she held mine as we walked into the castle

Dinner was average, nothing happened
Draco wasn't there for whatever reason, neither were Crabbe and Goyle
If I had to assume, they were at the Room of Requirements doing whatever it was that they needed done
Harry noticed them missing too
I saw him reach for the map, but it was in his dorm in his bag not on his person
Hermione had told me at one point that if I needed to see Draco she would create a distraction for me
Was now the right time
I had to find out why he was so rude to me
I needed to tell him I didn't want to hex him
I looked at Hermione
It was as if I didn't need to say anything, she knew what I needed to do

"Cora you look unwell" she said taking her hand and placing it on my forehead "the full moon is tonight I think you should go lie down"
Truthfully I had been feeling unwell since night had fallen while we were on the train
I didn't say anything, my friends knew when I wasn't feeling well
She was giving me an out to go find Draco though

"I'm going to go lie down" I said pushing off the table

"Want an escort?" Harry asked

"No I'll be ok, I'm just going to bed"
Harry wanted an excuse to go to the dorms to find the map I know he did
Hermione distracted him by asking about Dumbledore's secret missions he's had him on
Harry has mentioned it a few times to us, but he's kept to himself mostly

I made my way up to the seventh floor
Where I saw Crabbe and Goyle walking the halls
I know they saw me, but they pretended they didn't
I walked up to where I knew the room would open, and asked it kindly to open for me
Show me Draco, please

The room opened, I heard his voice yelling and objects being broken on the ground
A vase went flying past my head, I ducked causing my head to spin by how fast I moved

"FUCK!!" He yelled "fucking shit!!!"
I walked closer to him, the closer I got the more his voice sounded strained
I saw him kick a cabinet again and again
"Piece of shit" he slammed the door shut on it, once twice, enough times I was surprised it stayed put together
He raced off into a different direction
"I have to figure this out" he said determined

"Draco?" I called out

Silence

"Talk to me" I said softly, more to myself than to him
If I could mend my relationship with my dad I could do it with Draco
I was lost in my own thoughts
I didn't see Draco storm in front of me, emotions on high
Bitter
Itchy
The feeling of my throat closing up
Fear

I put my hand on his cheek but he shoved it off
"What's the fucking point of having those two watch the halls if they are going to let you in"
Last time we were in this room we had sex and told each other how much we meant to one another
Now things were different, I wanted to go back to how we felt in each other's embrace
"You don't listen do you??" He grabbed my shoulders and started shaking me "do you?!"

"Draco you're hurting me" I said "it's a full moon I'm weak already"
He instantly let go of my shoulders
"D-did you mean what you said on the train...did I do something wrong?" I asked scared

"Leave" he said viciously
He grabbed a chair nearby and tossed it across the room
"Get out!!"

I watched the chair smash against the wall
"I'm sorry" I said pained "if I did something wrong...I want to fix it please don't shut me out"

"Cora" he said catching my attention again "get the fuck out of here"
