Death Eaters Daughter Part Two

Two Hundred Fourty Six

I placed my hand over my mouth
"No" I said out loud "this can't be"
Where is Draco...he's in trouble

I turned to the doors leading back inside the castle
I began running towards them but heard the sounds of brooms behind me
I turned to look and saw two figures coming closer and closer to the Astronomy tower
I ran back over to the edge and held my wand out in a defensive position
When the figures flew closer I noticed it was Harry and Dumbledore

"What's going on??" Harry yelled when he dismounted

"I don't know I just heard screaming and then I saw" I looked at the night sky "uhm that" I pointed to the dark mark

"Dumbledore is injured he needs Snape"

"Ill go find him" I said rushing down the spiral stairway
I made it to the bottom before I heard a group of people outside of the tower door
Harry ran to my side with his wand out
I felt something push me into a corner and Harry followed suit
Then I was frozen, I couldn't move a muscle
The door swung open, I heard Bellatrix cackling but the door slammed shut almost immediately
A set of footsteps rushed up the spiral stairwell that Harry and I were force to hide under

"Expelliarmus!!"
Draco
I watched him disarm the headmaster, he pointed his wand directly at him

"Draco what a nice night it is to look out at the stars" he said sitting down

Dumbledore's wand was in Draco's other hand
He tossed it across the floor
"You know what I came here to do"

I couldn't move, I realized now that Dumbledore had forced Harry and i into hiding and petrified us so we wouldn't get in the middle of this encounter
He knew Harry would defend him, he knew I would defend Draco

"You're not a killer, your heart isn't cold"

"You know nothing about me"

"How did you manage to do it? Get death eaters into the grounds?"

Draco hesitated
"There is a vanishing cabinet in the room of requirements, the second is in Borgin and Burkes...together they make a passageway"

"How interesting"

"I was the one who cursed Katie Bell, it was meant for you. The poison that Weasley drank was yours too"

"But you failed both times, even once hurting someone you loved if I'm not mistake"
Draco flinched
I touched the necklace and got cursed...he was so broken when he came to visit

"Snape is a double agent he's working against you"
I knew Harry wouldn't let me live this down, being right about Draco and now Snape

"Snape is trustworthy" Dumbledore said back "Draco you would have killed me now if you were a true death eater"

Draco lifted his sleeve, it was then I saw the mark he had been hiding from me this year
I wanted to cry for him
"I have the mark I am a death eater, I don't have a choice in doing this"

"There is always a choice"

"I've never had one" he said pained
I couldn't look at Harry but I hoped he actually listening to what was going on
Harry grew up with good influences, Draco didn't
I would have been in his place if not for my friends
If I was placed in the same house as him, this would have been my future
This was a future Draco was trying to keep me from

"I can protect you" Dumbledore said shifting onto his feet again

"I don't need protection" he took a deep breath "I need to kill you"

"What are you afraid of?"

I felt for Draco's emotions, he was hiding them originally but when I concentrated hard enough I could feel one very strong feeling
Fear
I felt it in my throat, the sensation of it closing up
I shut out his emotion quickly before it made me more panicked than I already was

"I'm not afraid of anything" he walked closer to Dumbledore
I heard banging around outside the door, it sounded like a fight was breaking out
I can't imagine the order is here, maybe someone tipped them off to what was happening...

"We are all afraid of something, does it have anything to do with what Blaise has been doing? Are you afraid for Cora's life? Are they holding her life against you?"

"They're going to kill her if I don't kill you...they won't fail like Blaise did. They are cruel and I will do everything and anything to keep her from that fate"
I stopped breathing
I knew Blaise was after me, I didn't know the rest of the death eaters he's been having to be subjected to were as well
I understand everything now, I know why he's been avoiding me
It's not just one person...he's been protecting me against the entirety of Voldemort's followers

"I can protect her, lay down your wand and talk to me"

"Only I can protect her" his hand was shaking
I didn't take my eyes off the scene, I wanted to hold him I wanted to kiss him and tell him I was safe

"You can't do everything on your own, let me help you"

I saw it then
Draco hesitated, he began placing his wand to face down
He was going to let Dumbledore in to help, I didn't have to see my best friend, the love of my life fall

The door slammed open, footsteps raced up the stairs towards Draco and the weakened Dumbledore
Draco picked his wand back up to face him

"This is taking too long finish him!!" Bellatrix screamed at Draco

Fenrir Greyback who I recognized from wanted posters began circling him
"I know what'll get you going" he sneered out "maybe if I smell you I can track her, you smell like" he sniffed his jacket "peaches"

Draco shoved him off
"Im going to do it" he snapped "so fuck off"

"This room smells like it, was she here before you arrived? I can find her easily with a scent this strong"

"I said fuck off" he growled

"Draco Draco Draco" I heard Corban Yaxley say
"You know it was never going to work right? She's not worth your name, she's pathetic and you are too for failing your mission"

"I haven't failed yet"

I heard another set of footsteps walk up the stairs, but before the set of feet moved forward the person looked directly at Harry and I
Snape was looking at us intensely, he didn't out us or say anything he just looked at us with a cold stare
He walked up to the scene unfolding, Draco looked at the new comer and I felt his sigh in emotion
Like he had an ally

Snape walked up to Draco and squeezed his shoulder
"Severus" Dumbledore said
I saw him nod his shaking head slightly
The death eaters didn't notice, they were too focused on making sure no one came into the door
The only one who was by Draco was Bellatrix, she was whispering into his ear

"Avada Kedavra" a green light shot straight into Dumbledore's chest from Snape's wand
I saw the look of pain leave his eyes as he fell backwards into the night sky
The same one I was just dangling over in Draco's arms

Draco's emotions hit me like a solid rock, his fear was overwhelming
The curse that was placed on Harry and I was lifted
Death eaters swarmed out of the tower, laughing and screaming as they left
Draco was in between Snape and Corban

Harry looked at me with a promise of vengeance
I knew then he didn't care what Draco had said or what he didn't do
He was going to kill him and Snape
