Two Hundred Fifty Four

I stood there staring at Fred
No one in the room spoke, even George was quiet. I think this is the first thing he didn't tell his twin about first
I was in shock

"Cora I've loved you for 11 years, you mean the world to me. I want to grow old with you, I want you in my life for the rest of the time we may have" Fred opened a small box and inside was a beautiful ring, money was hard to come by now. The fact that he spend anything on a piece of jewelry was insane

"I can't believe you bought that" Molly said not hiding her anger "Fredrick we've discussed this"

"I bought this when she was still in school, it was the first thing I bought when the shop was doing well. I've had it since knowing she was who I wanted to be with" he ignored the second part of what she said

I looked from Fred to find someone who could help me, Charlie looked at me with a I told you so look. He kept telling me if I let Fred continue to console me, it would lead to something else. I looked to Hermione who looked sad for me, like she knew my answer before I said it. I looked at my dad, he didn't give me any sort of answer in his eyes. I couldn't read him at all
Was he happy for us
Was he sad like Hermione

I felt my eyes watering, Fred's own softened
I don't think he realizes what I'm upset about
"My love, Corey say something" he went to hold my hand in place but I pulled it away

I backed up slowly, shaking my head
"I-I can't"

He didn't falter, he stayed on the ground
"I love you, you love me don't you? Let yourself be happy again"

I looked around the room again, Molly was furious
Harry was the only one who looked at me like he was going to save me

"I-I-I" I couldn't get words out "I cant" I said again "I can't marry you"

Fred got off the floor now, he put the ring back into his pocket
"Why? You cant possible still have feelings for Draco after everything he's done??"

I didn't say anything
No one in the room said anything either, I couldn't be more uncomfortable

"Cora he's killed innocent people, there isn't a week that goes by that the reporters aren't bragging about his death toll"

"I've killed people too"

"The ones you've killed weren't innocent wizards and witches trying to live a peaceful life. He has killed muggles and muggle born people like your best friend"
Hermione shifted on her feet awkwardly, I saw Ron go for her hand which she let him hold

"I know"

"So why can't we just be happy together?"

"She said no" Harry walked to my side
Hermione walked over to me with Ron too
Things were getting worse by the minute, my dad stepped in front of me. The room felt divided now, I didn't know who was on who's side but I knew I needed to get out

"I'm sorry" I said, my shield was cracking "I'm so sorry" I let a few tears fall down my face
There might have been a time that I would have said yes without hesitation
I didn't know if it was my residual feelings for Draco or that I didn't deem myself worthy of happiness either way I couldn't agree to marry him

Fred chuckled and shook his head, he then apparated without saying anything.
George looked at me apologetically and left as well
His father and mother left next, Bill and Fleur left after them saying nothing to me too

Charlie put his hand out for me to take
"Ready to go back?"

I knew a lecture was waiting for me, he wouldn't embarrass me here though

"Can we talk first?" Hermione asked

Charlie nodded his head and walked outside
My dad turned around and kissed the top of my head and walked outside with him, Tonks followed without looking at me

The only ones left in the room were Harry Ron Hermione and I

"That was...awkward" Ron said

"Why would he chose today to do that...it clearly wasn't the time" Hermione said

"Thanks Harry" I said sitting back down
He nodded his head
I didn't want to argue with Hermione but no time was a good time for us
There was no us, I let myself hook up with him instead of face my loneliness

"Cora, I know we all have separate missions but...we started searching for horcrux all four of us in the beginning and well...we are going to start looking again. Together if you want to join"

"I miss you guys" I said picking at my fingers "I want to be a team again"

"We will start after Bill's wedding" Ron said "it gives us time to find a way to sneak you out of Charlie's watch. He won't let you go with us, I know he won't"

"My dragon is with him though"

"We can't take her with us...I'm sorry" Hermione said "she will be safe with Charlie right?"

"I suppose...so after Bill's wedding we will all leave together. You guys aren't going to leave before right? You will take me with you?

"We promise" Harry said "you are important to us and we need you to finish this"

"Ok"

We walked outside where my dad was discussing something with Charlie
He walked up to me and hugged me tightly
"I wish things were different" he said softly "I wish you could have said yes but that's not going to make you happy. Can you try to find someone who will?"

"I'm content where I am now" I lied

He knew it was a lie but let me go to Charlie anyways
I waved my friends goodbye with the promise of seeing them again soon

When we landed Charlie and I walked to the inside of our cave
"I told you so" he said out loud now

"Please don't"

"I told you he would do this, you broke him Cora"

"I know...I'm not good for him. His mum is right I wish he would listen to her"

"He won't"

When we got inside the cave, we couldn't find our dragons
I started to panic
"Charlie where are they"

He whistled for the pair but neither of them showed
"This isn't good"
He grabbed my hand and ran outside of the cave with me

There was a sign of a struggle, the ground was torn up
We heard a screech from behind us, Norbert went flying for the two of us
He was injured that much was clear
"Where is Cor" I grabbed my dragon stone necklace tightly

Charlie walked back to the cave and found a note

Thanks for the wedding entertainment

"B.Z??" I said "they captured her" I was panicking

"We will find her Cora, don't do anything stupid"

He knew I was going to find my dragon no matter the cost
