Two Hundred Fifteen

Ron brought me to the hospital wing to be inspected
My head was throbbing and my legs were still wobbly so I didn't have much of a choice in being seen, even Hagrid said I should go

Madame Pomfrey made me a potion that would help with my pain
  "We will wait for Dumbledore to inspect you before you are able to leave. I want to be sure you're not cursed as well, Katy isn't waking up from the curse she's under..."

We all looked to her bed and saw her friend sitting beside her silently crying
  "That could have been me" I said

  "It could have, don't touch weird things anymore alright?" Ron said

The front doors opened and Dumbledore walked in with Professor McGonagall
  "Leanne, will you tell me what happened to Katy before she was cursed?" Dumbledore said

"Katy went to the bathroom, when she came out she was already carrying that box" she said pointing to the object that Hagrid had in his hands, it was wrapped in his own scarf "she said she had to bring it..." she stopped talking

"Bring it where?" McGonagall asked

"Bring it to Dumbledore" I said

Everyone looked at me

"I heard it...it said bring me to Dumbledore"

"Why would someone want a cursed item to go to Dumbledore?" Hagrid said

"It was Malfoy" Harry said

I laid down on my bed, not wanting to hear this again and again

"What makes you say that?" Dumbledore asked

"He wasn't at Hogsmeade at all, and well he's been off this year" Harry said

"I will have you know that Mr.Malfoy was with me in detention all morning and afternoon. He was just released because I had to come and see what was happening with students in my house" she said

"He had someone else plant it" Harry said

"Harry that's ridiculous" Hermione said "you have to admit that's an odd accusations having a friend deliver a curse item to Katy in a bar?"

"Hagrid, will you please take that item to Professor Snape for further investigation" Dumbledore said

Katy's body began convulsing
Madame Pomfrey ran to her side
"She needs to go to St Mungo's now" she said to McGonagall
McGonagall raced over to the two of them and apparated out of the room

"Cora do you feel fine?" Dumbledore asked me

"My head feels better, but I still can't stop my legs from wobbling" I said lifting my blanket
Both of my legs were shaking badly

"I will notify your father and see if he can come visit you while you stay here" Dumbledore suggested "I would say it's best for you to stay for a few days, we want to be sure you aren't feeling affects from the curse as well"

I laid down completely now
"But I'll miss our quidditch game" I said annoyed

"You and Katy will be missing it...Ravenclaw's going to love this" Harry said equally annoyed "Hermione now's a good time to learn how to be a chaser"

"I don't think so" she said glaring at him "You'll just have to use Cormac"

Ron slouched in his seat
"Great"

"I'm sorry" I said

"Don't listen to them" Hermione said "you need to rest and get better"

Later on in the day my entire body started shaking like my legs
Madame Pomfrey tried giving me a potion to help, but she told me that I would just have to ride it out until the curse was out of my system
If it didn't get better in a day she would have to send me to St Mungo's as well

Dumbledore assured me he told my dad, but he hasn't shown up
It's only been a few hours, I doubt he is coming today...if at all but definitely not today
Sirius would have though...

I couldn't get comfortable
Everytime I started to fall asleep my body would shake uncontrollably, waking me up again
I told Dumbledore I was concerned about hearing voices from the necklace, but he told me if it was cursed that's not surprising
The necklace noticed that Katy would no longer be able to help, so it had to find a new host and unfortunately I was the closest to it

I heard the front door open
Madame Pomfrey was asleep by now, she left me a bell I could ring if I needed her but it's possible she just came to check on me
I kept my eyes closed, if she was here I didn't want her to see how badly I was suffering

The footsteps came closer
Whoever it was sat down beside me and placed their hand on my back
I recognized the emotions, but I also recognized the touch
Draco

He didn't say anything, he just kept rubbing my back

I kept my eyes closed, I didn't want to ruin him being near me by speaking
He's risking a lot just by coming to see me

"Cora" he said softly
That's all he said though, just my name

I turned around now facing him
My eyes were open, I stared at his broken ones
His hand moved from my back to my trembling legs
"I can't sleep" I showed him my hands that wouldn't stop shaking and my legs as well

He didn't say anything again, I wasn't sure it was just because he was trying to be quiet or something else
"I'm happy you're here"
He rubbed my leg softly, I felt them tremble less with his touch
But he still didn't say anything
"Talk to me, please?"

"I can't" he said

"Why are you sad?" I asked reaching for his face
He laid his head into my shaking hand

"You're hurt" he said "Professor McGonagall said two of her students were cursed from a necklace...I didn't find out it was you until a few minutes ago. I'm so sorry...this shouldn't have happened to you" he said
He sounded so hurt

"You didn't do anything, you don't have anything to be sorry about"

He didn't say anything
He was silent again
But with him near me I felt like I could finally sleep
My eyes were getting heavy, I wanted to stay awake to talk to him
I wanted to be held by him
"Can you...can you spend the night with me?" I asked in between conscious and unconsciousness

"You have no idea how badly I wish I could" he kissed my lips "I'll stay until you fall asleep, but I won't be here in the morning. I'm sorry Cora, you deserve someone better...someone you can be safe with"

"No no" I said fighting exhaustion "I don't want anyone else, I want you. I can't..."
It was no use
I wanted to continue to reassure him, he looked so broken
But with Draco caressing my face, sleep found me faster than I wished

By the time I woke up again he was gone
But I found a note laying beside me
It was in the shape of a dove, I knew it was him
"I love you" the note said
It didn't need to say anything more
I folded it and placed it in my hand, then placed my hand on my heart
I love you too
