Two Hundred Two

I woke up a few moments later
I knew not a lot of time passed because I could see the backend of then train just now leaving

I got off the ground and walked towards the castle
Draco...he's in trouble
I want to help him, but how can I if he just pushes me away

I walked up to the main gate, I saw a few Professor's taking role call
I noticed in front of me Harry and Tonks were getting checked in
I ran up to them
  "Harry where were you??" I said
I noticed he had blood on his face
  "You're bleeding?"

Harry looked from me to Draco who was further ahead of us
  "Draco found me in his compartment and kicked me in the face. He used a spell to immobilize me, if Tonks didn't find me I would be on my way back to London"

  "My pleasure to help you Harry" she said "are you doing alright Cora I haven't been able to talk to you much"

  "I'm ok"

  "I've been with your dad most of the summer, he's really rough" she said solemnly

  "Well he hates me, so I wouldn't know how he is"

She placed her hand on my shoulder
  "He doesn't hate you, he told me he doesn't...it's complicated. You should letter him soon"

I looked forward again and saw Draco looking my way
I nodded my head to him, but he didn't do it back
He just grabbed his bag from Filch and walked along the path to the main entrance

  "You can't seriously think he's still good after what I told you" Harry said annoyed

We got our bags checked in and were escorted into the castle by Tonks
  "This is where I leave you two, I'll be in Hogsmeade most of this year if you need me"

  "Thank you" I said to her

We watch her walk away and then Harry and I entered the great hall
  "I do still think he's good, to be honest you were being nosey. Anyone else would have done the same thing"

Harry rolled his eyes
We both sat down quickly with our friends
Ginny used a napkin to clean Harry's face and Hermione repaired his glasses

Dumbledore got to the center of his podium and cleared his throat
  "Hello all, welcome to another year at Hogwarts. I would like to introduce you to our newest Professor, Professor Slughorn" he pointed to the plump teacher I met on the train
Slughorn waved to the crowd of students
  "He will be your new Potions teacher, Professor Snape will be your new defense against the dark arts teacher"

Ron rolled his eyes
  "There goes our favorite class"

  "Maybe you can get into potions now, you didn't have much of a chance when Snape was Professor" I said to Ron
Hermione and I were the only two of our group who got O's in potions for our OWLs

  "Great can't wait to take another class this year" Ron said

  "If you want to be an Auror you will"

  "The job is jinxed anyways, maybe this will be the year we get rid of Snape" Ron suggested

  "As you all know" Dumbledore stated "we have a dangerous year ahead of us. You have the right to know, Voldemort" the crowd gasped "is at large. He is responsible for muggle tragedies that have happened around London, be mindful of where you are and be on guard. Now is a time we all need to group together and trust one another, the friendships you all have made are more important than ever...on a lighter note let's get into the sorting ceremony"

I looked at Draco when Dumbledore started the ceremony
He wasn't looking my way, Pansy was on his arm again though
Are they together...Merlin I hope not
She kissed his cheek, which made my blood boil again
I had to look away before I got up and jinxed her too

Harry caught us all up in what he heard Draco saying while we walked to our common room
  "He said he has a task he needs to fulfill this year"

  "Maybe it's getting good grades" I said
I kept what Draco told me to myself, they wouldn't care at this point

  "Cora stop being so naive" Harry said annoyed "it'll get you killed"

  "Draco wouldn't hurt me" I said agitated

  "You don't know that" he said

I stopped moving
  "I do"

  "Let's just go to bed" Hermione said to our group

Harry wanted so bad to see the worst in Draco, I wasn't going to back down
If it wasn't for Hermione intervening I would have continued on
Draco has proven to me twice that he cares for me, I won't lose him

  "See you all in care of magical creatures tomorrow" Hagrid said smiling at us as he walked passed our group

I looked at our group
  "Tell me one of you took it"

They looked around awkwardly
  "No" they all said

  "Why not? It's an easy class"

  "It's pointless for our goals" Ron said "plus I'd like to not get my head bitten off by something new he wants to introduce us to"

  "You're dramatic"

  "Have fun being the only one in his class" Ron said

  "I will, maybe we can talk about dragons every day"

  "Cora if it makes you feel better they didn't take most of my classes either. These two took the bare minimum" Hermione said

  "Of course they did"

That night in the common room I stayed downstairs
I wasn't tired, and I knew Hermione was so I opted to stay here where I could think out loud if need be
I want to letter Draco so bad, but he told me not to
How can I help him if he doesn't let me in
He's never shut me out like this, once last year but that was for a few days
This has been all summer

I looked into the fireplace
I wish I could talk to you Sirius
I grabbed my quill and a piece of parchment

Dear dad,

If you still blame me, I can't do much to change that
I blame myself for what happened too
I ran into Tonks, she told me I should letter you
I wish you would talk to me, I need my dad
I want to letter you for advice, I could really use some right now
