One Hundred Seventy Five

When we got back to the common room, Fred was up waiting
When I looked at him I bursted into tears
He ran to me and held me tightly, he didn't ask what was wrong he just held me
That made it harder for me too

Fred and Draco have the same qualities I love
Caring
Protective
Strong, mentally and physically
Loving
I can't imagine being without either

I stayed downstairs with Fred, he held me the whole night rubbing my back
He kissed the top of my head a few times before I fell asleep on his tear streaked chest

The next morning came and it was time for classes again
But before then I had to send my letters out, most importantly to Charlie asking why he didn't explain to me I could keep Cor with me

After that breakfast came, I sat with Fred which I usually did
I saw Draco staring at us at one point, but he stopped after a short while
My first class of the day was care of magical creatures, I usually hung around Draco in that class
I wasn't sure how classes would go with him now, I just hope he doesn't stop talking to me

  "Are we having another meeting before Christmas break?" Seamus whispered to us

"Yes" Harry answered "since break is next week, we will have one tonight"

"Brilliant" Seamus said smiling

It seemed like all students enjoyed our classes, everyone smiled and laughed while being taught defense
It reminded me a lot of my dad's teaching, Harry doesn't aspire to be a Professor but he would make a really great one

Breakfast ended, I walked with Hermione towards Hagrid's hut
When we reached our destination I left my group and walked over to Draco who smiled at me
"Hello" he said

"Good morning" I said back "can I still be your partner in classes?"

He looked at me curiously
"Yes? Why wouldn't you be?"

I shrugged my shoulders
Is he going to pretend like he didn't tell me he is in love with me
"I thought you were mad at me...you didn't come back to the hospital wing like you usually would"

"You needed space, I want to give you what you want" he took my hand and kissed the back of it
He has done things like this in the past, it's nothing new but this time it sent butterflies through my stomach
I felt my cheeks blush but I left my hand in his as he warmed it up, along with my other hand

Our group was lead into the forbidden forest, it was just sunny and raining over the weekend but now snow dusted the path
I looked in front of the group and saw my breath starting to show
Draco noticed it as well, he put his arm around my shoulder and pulled me into his chest
"Draco" I said

We were at the back of the class, we typically were when we went venturing into the woods
"Yes?"

"I love you too" I said resting my head on his chest "and maybe if I wasn't in a relationship already things would be different for us...I don't want to lose you"

I felt his sadness
"I know. I didn't lie when I said it was better to have you than to not. I will always be in love with you Cora, that won't ever change"

"I feel bad, I want you to be happy"

"I am happy"

"I don't feel any happiness from you, just sadness"

He sighed
"Of course I'm sad about not having you as my girlfriend. That won't ever change, but Cora I mean it when I say I'd rather you be in my life than not. I will never leave you"

I smiled on his chest
"I love you"

"I love you too" I looked up and he was smiling

Hagrid showed us Thestrals
Well by show us he explained to most of the class, I was one of the very few who could see the beautiful creatures
Me Harry and Neville, that was all
Umbridge, who followed us out here, wasn't impressed.
She thought that a creature that no one could see was a joke and I saw her marking a lot of things down for his lesson
I knew that wasn't a good sign

Later that night we had our last defense class meeting
We decided on a name, Dumbledore's Army was a joke name but it felt right
We laid a list of names on a mirror in the corner of the room, with photos of people who inspired all of us
My favorite photo was the one of the order from when they were in school
My dad was standing beside his best friends James and Sirius
My mum was standing beside Harry's mum Lily
The photo was enchanted, so I could see their smiles and laughter as they pushed each other over
Sirius and James were the rowdiest, my dad smirked at their antics
Lily and my mum laughed at the boys too

"Harry" I said after the class ended
He walked over to me and looked at their photo with me again
"How different would we be if we grew up with them?"

"I imagine we would have been close earlier on" he said "I also imagine holidays together, birthdays together, weekly dinners together"

"I wish I remembered my mum" I said touching the photo "I only know what people tell me, which isn't a lot"

"I know how you feel"

"Do you think they're proud of us?"

"I do"

I hugged Harry tightly before we both exited the room we wouldn't see again for a few weeks

I slept in Fred's bed that night
He hasn't brought up Draco since that fight, he hasn't asked about him at all
"Fred"

He pulled me closely into his chest, he had his chest resting on my back and his arms around my front
"Yes Love?"

"I love both of you" I said softly

"I know you do"

"Draco still wants to be my friend even after that fight with you...that makes me really happy"

"I know it does"

"I know you don't like him, but he's going to be in my life regardless of the fact that he's in love with me"

"Who do you love more?"

"I love you both equally, but I'm in a relationship with you not him"

He kissed the back of my head
"I don't want to lose you"

"I don't want to lose you either"
