Death Eaters Daughter Part Two

Two Hundred Seventeen

Game day
Last week my team played against Ravenclaw
We lost, Harry told me it was better for me to sit it out since I was just released and my hands were still shaking
Katy Bell is still at St Mungo's, Cormac has replaced  her for now, Harry tried giving a second year a go as my replacement for the last game but he was knocked out by a bludger in the first few minutes
I watched the game from the stadium with Hermione Neville Seamus and Dean
Luckily things with Neville have become less awkward

  "I can do this" I said to myself in the mirror
I walked down the stairs and into the common room
My whole team was waiting downstairs for me
My hands have been trembling since I was affected by the curse, holding a broom might be difficult but holding and catching a Quaffle might be worse

  "We're playing Slytherin, so we need to be on our A game" Harry said to us "let's make this a quick game too. Cora is still shaking, so she may need backup from the beaters more today alright?"

Our two beaters nodded their heads
Harry continued with his before game speech, I was trying to listen but I noticed Cormac was inching closer and closer to me as Harry spoke

  "I'll block any Bludgers that come for you" he whispered "I'd give up the win if it meant I could help you" he winked at me

I rolled my eyes
  "I don't need your help. Win the game don't worry over me"

He looked down me down and then back up again
"Merlin what quidditch gear does to you isn't fair"

I was about to tell him off but Harry put his hand in for a group huddle
I put my hand in over Ginny's, Cormac put his over mine unfortunately

"Ok let's win" Harry said
Harry wasn't the most enthusiastic captain but he knew how to win
Oliver would kick our asses before games and Angelina would threaten us, Harry can't compete with the other more aggressive captains we've had

We are all eating a light meal before the game
We were facing Slytherin today, I saw the whole team in their uniform as well but I didn't see Draco

"Heard Malfoy isn't playing today" Seamus said sitting beside me

"Why's that?" Harry said

"Not sure, just walked by and heard them talking about their replacement for the game" Seamus said

I watched as Ron picked up some sausages but then drop them onto his lap
He tried picking up his juice but spilled some of it on his uniform as well

"You alright?" I asked concerned

"Yeah" he said "well I'm just nervous is all. I didn't play well last year, Harry you should make Cormac permanent and take me off the team"

"Ron you didn't play that badly" I said trying to boost his confidence

"Cora you're just being nice..."

Harry poured Ron another juice and passed it to him
"Here drink this, it'll help"

"Nothing can help me" Ron said

"Harry what did you put in that cup??" Hermione questioned

We all looked at Harry's hand
He had some sort of vial in it
Liquid luck?

"Harry you didnt" I said shocked

"Thats cheating" Hermione said annoyed

Ron looked at the glass now on the table
He grabbed it and chugged it down quickly
Hermione rolled her eyes, I was astonished that Harry would cheat on a game

"Let's fucking do this!" Ron yelled jumping up from the table

The game started off easy, for a game against Slytherin
As I thought holding the broom was hard but trying to grab the Quaffle was worse

Cormac and Ginny passed it to each other, occasionally to me
I mostly just blocked Slytherin from getting the ball and catching it if need be

At one point a bludger smashed into my broom, sending me flying to the ground
Without my broom I was out of the game, but luckily by that point we were 60 points ahead
The game had been going on for an hour, Harry had located the snitch by the time I reached the team's lockers to watch the game anyways

Ron was doing extremely well, I wasn't surprised seeing that he took the luck potion
Every Quaffle thrown his way he blocked with ease
He looked so happy, even with Slytherin trying to rile him up with name calling and their "Weasley is our king" chant they made up last year
I think this time it was actually encouraging him

The game ended with Harry catching the snitch
Draco's replacement wasn't as fast even with a better broom, I'm not sure the reason for him skipping the game but if I had to guess I'd say it was related to whatever was occupying him this year

The team flew down and I ran over to meet them
"Good job everyone" Harry said "you good Cora?"

"I'm fine, the fall wasn't too bad but I'll need to order a new broom" I said holding onto my broke halves of a broom
"Ron you did so well"
Even if he had help with the potion I was proud of him, his emotions were bursting with confidence and happiness

Later in the common room everyone was partying for our win
I stayed beside Hermione, Gryffindors were congratulating Ron for such a good game
"We've never seen a better keeper!" Seamus yelled
"Not one Quaffle went in!" Said Dean

I looked at Hermione
"If only they knew"

Harry walked up to us
"Knew what?"

"Don't play dumb"

He showed us the vial of liquid luck in his pocket, it was still full
"Knew what?" He said again smirking

"He only thought you poured it in..."Hermione said shocked

"You asshole" I said laughing

"He just needed confidence. I knew he was a good keeper that's why hes on the team" Harry said

We heard cheering and whistles coming from where Ron was standing
When I looked over I saw he was kissing a girl I knew to be Lavender Brown
I didn't even know she liked him

I felt someone push passed me, Hermione was exiting the room
I followed her and heard Harry following closely behind me

We found her in an empty classroom yelling spells and talking to herself
"Stupid git" she said
A spell shattered a vase in the corner
She used another spell to put it back together

"You ok?" I asked

She turned to us, her eyes were red but I felt her emotions
She was so sad

I walked over and hugged her tightly
"I'm sorry"

Harry came over to us and placed his hand on her shoulder
She cried into our embrace
"I thought this would finally be the year we'd be together" she got out

The door opened
"Oh this room is taken" Lavender said giggling

I let Hermione go and saw that Ron and Lavender had walked in holding hands
Hermione stormed passed us and shoulder checked Ron on the way out
I looked at Harry and sighed
Things have just gotten complicated
