Chaos broke out, wizards and witches starting appareling at an alarming rate. The order members all ripped out their wands, readying themselves for a battle. I saw Molly leave immediately with Ginny, Harry didn't get to say goodbye to her one last time. Something that I knew would haunt him

My dad let go of me to stand guard next to an opening, Fred and Charlie raced each other to stand in front of me. I looked to my right where I saw my three best friends, they were still there but just as I felt relief the whole tent went into a blazing fire. Fred grabbed my arm and dragged me out on the side where my dad was

I heard pops of appartation and knew we were surrounded

I took my wand out and put it in front of my body, a spell flew passed my face slicing my cheek on the way. I turn to find its caster, but whoever it was already started on their new target. Death eaters cornered us, but I couldn't tell who was who. They were masked up, wanting to make a point it seemed. They knew the papers would get a hold of his story, they wanted to stay as hidden enemies, its more intimidating that way.

I shot spell after spell with Fred Charlie and my dad by my side. I saw a few of the order members get blasted with spells, hoping it was no-one I need to escape with I kept going on

That was until a spell caster stood in my direct line. I knew who it was before he even started on his offense. The way he held himself was the same even after five years. He has a sort of ego in his stance, one I didn't see in the dungeon. At the time he was worried about me, he's different here. Draco stood in front of me, masked and in all black just like the rest of his lot. I saw him send a spell that knocked Charlie back. He then sent another sending Fred flying from my side, straight into a fight going on with George and a masked fighter. The only one standing by my side now was my dad. I couldn't bring my wand against him, no matter how many times I saw a spell get close to my body or hit a loved one. I couldn't

"Draco" I said softly

He brought his wand up against me

My dad took my backside and guarded me from that direction, trusting that I would take care of what was in front of me. He had more trust in my skill than I did.

"Draco" I said again, the sound of chaos surrounded us I couldnt tell if he could actually hear me.I felt no emotions from him, nothing. It was as if he was a corpse, walking closer and closer to me

The sounds of screaming filled my ears, I heard my name being called but I refused to answer. I cared only about the person in front of me who wasn't himself. Something happened in between our last encounter. He was...cold. He shot down wizards and witches without remorse. I knew this is how the world saw him, but even now I didn't see that. I saw the boy who stayed with me every time I found myself in the hospital wing. The one who cheered the loudest during my quidditch victories. The one who protected me when someone was trying to hurt me. The one who gave me comfort and always made sure I was ok. The one who walked with me at the triwizard ball when Fred was too busy drinking. The one who's always had my back. I saw my best friend

"Draco"

I wasn't getting through to him, he kept his wand raised towards me

I raised mine back, finally able to move my hands again

The whole world stopped, in this moment it was just us.

He shot the spell first, mine went second. Our wands aren't our own, when they collided sparks flew in each direction, knocking out anyone close enough. I tried to keep my tears in, but they pooled down my sorrowed face. I had only once before used a wand against him. It took me until recently to recover from that. I could feel the power in his spell, but because of the bracelet I was wearing I was just as strong as he was. I saw he was still wearing the watch I gave him, but he wasn't there. He was missing, left behind only his body.

I tried moving his spell around, but he didnt budge. He wanted to hurt me, I knew from the spell that he used. A bright green light against my red, he wanted to kill me.

Someone came to my side to help, I didn't know who but I'm sure their plan was to attack Draco while I kept his distracted
Even now I was protecting him

"don't interfere" I snapped
I looked to my help and saw it was Hermione
She put her wand in a different direction, if it was Harry or Ron they would have gone against my wish. She wouldn't ever

His spell tried over powering my own, but neither of us budged. Our spells stayed with each other in the middle. The light from both of them created a scene in itself. Sadness poured from both of our ends, the only emotion I felt was from my old wand.
My wand started to shake, I saw his doing the same thing. If we didn't stop the spell both of our wands would shatter. They were never meant to be used against one another, they were meant to protect each other. Our wands have a love story just as deep as our own.

My dad wasn't behind me anymore, Hermione had moved over to battle someone new. I took this opportunity to break from our collision.
I moved my wand, sending his spell flying into the person behind me
Moody fell down, the death curse hit him straight in his chest
I couldn't let myself mourn his lost, not yet.
I looked from his lifeless body to the man I loved walking towards me with his wand still facing my way
Hermione grabbed my arm, I knew what this meant
I tried pushing her off but she held on until Harry and Ron arrived
I took one last look at Draco before I felt the familiar sensation of Apparation fill my body
Something happened to him
He never would have held his wand against me...he wouldn't
