Two Hundred Twenty Nine

"That conversation was bullshit you know that right??" Charlie was pacing around

"It wasn't. He laid it all out there for me I know where I stand" I said crossing my arms

"Don't do that" he said glaring at me

"Do what" I said back

"Give up" his words pushed their way through me

"Uhm" I heard Hermione's voice
I whipped my head around and saw Cor standing beside her
I had forgetting Hermione was touching me before Charlie moved us

"Hermione what the hell" Charlie said holding his chest "you scared me"

"I scared you??" She said pointing to the dragon puffing hot air at her "there is a dragon right beside me"

I walked up to my creature and placed my head onto her body
"Hermione want to go for a ride?"

She looked at me like I had completely lost it

"Well Hermione I can bring you back, but Cora won't be going back with you. She will be on the train back to Hogwarts at the end of holiday but she isn't going to the burrow" he said in a way that left no room for arguments

I knew if I asked her to stay she would
"Hermione I'll see you soon" I hugged her tightly

"Be safe" she said holding Charlie's hand
Dragons make her uncomfortable, I knew she wouldn't enjoy a moment here and I didn't want that to be my friend's holiday

Charlie glared at me in a way an older brother would before scolding his sibling
"Don't move"
He apparated away with Hermione leaving me with Cor and Norbert

"My life's a mess" I said slouching to the ground
Cor wrapped her wings around me and Norbert kept watch on the area
We landed in a field with an open night sky, i saw the moon
She would be fully out in a few days, I would feel the most alive here

A few moments went by until I heard Charlie come back
He passed me a bag that Harry held onto for me
"This has all your holiday items in it?"

"Yeah" I opened my bag "I know I sent you a gift already but want another?" I grabbed a small box and showed him it "it was for my good for nothing guardian"
Inside was a gold watch, one that was engraved with our family name
I bought it the same day I bought Draco's
I didn't want to, I wanted to buy him cheap chocolate but I caved and grabbed him something nice
"It says Lupin on it but I can get that fixed easy"

"No I think you should give that to him"

"Why would I?" I said shoving it back into my bag deeper than it was before

"Because when I went back to the burrow he was a mess"

"I don't care"

"You do care" he crossed his arms over his chest

"I truly don't"

"Why are you lying" he said as a statement

I got up from the ground, Cor's wings stayed around me
"What makes you so sure I'm lying? I hate him"

"You said you hated him before and got him a Christmas gift" he pointed to my bag

"He ACCUSED ME OF BEING A SPY" i yelled "he doesn't trust me"

"He's lost"

"And I'm not?!"

"You are" Charlie walked over to me
Cor barred her teeth towards him but he didn't falter, he wasn't afraid of her or me
"You know what doesn't fix problems?"

I didn't say anything

"Avoiding them"

"Draco won't talk to me"
No one else would care about what I had to say about him, it's possible Charlie won't either
"He told me to stay away from him for my own good"

"Take his advice"

"I can't"

"Why"

"I am in love with him. I love him more than i love Fred, more than I loved Nico. I can't get him out of my fucking head" I grabbed the sides of my head and pulled my chin into my chest
I screamed
I knew no one was around us, if they were I would have been bombarded with their presence already

"Don't you care about your well-being?"

I shook my head no

"You should"

"I need to be alone"

"That's not happening"

"Doesn't anyone care about what I want?!"

"Until you start wanting things that are for your own good, no"
I pulled out of Cor's wings and pushed Charlie
I tried pushing him away, he didn't break
I slapped his chest and continued to shove him, but he didn't move
I beat on his chest until he grabbed my hands and made me look at him
"You are so quick to think the worst of yourself, instead of thinking of everything you've overcome"

"You don't get it you have a loving family" I choked out

"My family loves you too"

"They won't when I tell Fred I'm not interested in getting back together with him"

"Who cares what happens with Fred, you still have Ron Hermione Harry Me" he pulled me in for a hug "you want so desperately to be loved, but when you are shown it you think you don't deserve it. Stop with your self pity"
I didn't cry for once, Charlie was getting through my barrier
"I want you to go up to your dad and tell him you love him"

"Why would I?"

"Because life is too short to not tell the ones we love how we feel. You want love? Show love"

"I can't"

"You won't not you cant"

I was biting my tongue so hard
"He won't say it back"

"Who fucking cares?"

"I do"

"Exactly my point. You care about him"

"I hate you"

Charlie laughed, I felt his chest move with his chuckle
"Liar"

"Whatever" I smirked

"Now, I told Hermione I wasn't bringing you back. But I am for one quick moment and then we are going back here for the holiday break. You are going to march into the burrow, find your dad shove his gift into his hands and tell him you love him. Got it?"

I glared up at him
"He won't care"

"You are going to try for once in your life. You are going to be the one who pushes your love onto them. You're entire life you've never shown love first. Your friends, Draco, Fred, Nico all showed you love first. You didn't have to be vulnerable to them, they came to you. You are going to be the inspiration for your dad to see. Show him love and watch how he changes"
