I picked out a dress for tonight earlier in Hogsmeade My dress was velvet green and short, Slughorn's office was actually warm so I wasn't worried about getting cold I did buy a throw jacket just in case though
I had a very small amount of jewelry that I owned. Fred's necklaces he's given me in the past, but my favorite was one that Draco gifted me. I took off my dragon scales for the night, it was too casual He also gave me a bracelet years ago that was perfect for making an impression When things were normal for us He wouldn't be at the party, but wearing these items felt like I was letting him claim me still I looked in the mirror and smiled seeing how well the pieces paired with my dress
I met Hermione downstairs, she wasn't with Cormac "Where's your date?" I asked smirking
"Hopefully running really late...I love green on you Cora it's really your color"
"Thanks" I smiled brightly
"Wow" I heard Neville said I turned around and saw him and Harry walking down the stairs "You look so pretty" he said
"Thanks, you look nice too"
Neville offered me his arm that I took and we all walked to Slughorn's office Luna met us on the way, she was dressed in an odd purple dress but it spoke to Luna she said when she found it I think Luna had the most creative clothing, she's wonderful truly
Hermione spent most of the party dodging Cormac At one point she was hiding behind curtains "What are you doing? Your date is looking for you" I poked at her
"Don't you dare tell him where I am, he's been trying to snog all night it's really awful"
"Why did you ask him? You knew Ron wasn't going to the party"
"Yeah well he still heard about it. That's all that needed to be done" she looked behind me "fuck I gotta go" she pushed out of the curtain and headed for a new hiding spot
Cormac opened the curtain "Cora Cora Cora" he bite his lip "Green is a good choice, have you seen Hermione?"
"No, I have to go" I said pushing through the curtains as well
"Crafty ladies" I heard Cormac say "Hermione" he called out to her
I saw her now hiding by the fireplace with Luna and Neville I walked over to them "Where's Harry?"
"He is talking to Professor Slughorn" Neville said "pastry?"
I took one off of his plate "Yes thank you"
He smiled "Cora you really do look lovely"
Hermione raised her eyebrows at me
"Thanks" I said again "Neville you know it's just a friend date right?" I reminded him
"Oh I know" he said as his cheeks blushed
I heard commotion happening in the front of the office I walked over there with Neville and Hermione
"Caught this one sneaking around the hallways just now, what do you want to do with him??" Filch asked holding Draco
Draco looked at Filch "I was gate crashing alright??" He said
I pushed towards the front of the room where Harry was standing Draco saw me, he didn't smile or show any emotions
"It's a holiday, he can stay" Slughorn said
Filch let go of Draco, he straighten his outfit out and glared at Filch until he walked out Draco was in a suit again, maybe he was trying to come to the party He looks so good in all black
"I need to have a word with you" Snape said coming up to the front Only a few Professors went to the party tonight, Snape being one of them
Draco shoved Snape's hand off his arm "Sure"
He looked back once in my direction but exited with Snape after only being in the room for a moment I looked at Harry and he went to the back of the classroom He looked at me and then made a motion to follow him I did and went under his cloak
"Where are we going?" I asked
"We're following them, I want you to come with me. If they say anything about what they're doing I need you to hear it with your own ears. You need to see what Malfoy is"
We followed the pair to an empty hallway Snape pointed his wand at Draco
"You need to be more careful" he threatened "it's not just your neck on the line remember? You don't want her involved so be more cautious"
"Don't you think I know that!?" Draco yelled "I didn't expect Filch to follow me"
"What were you doing down this hallway??" Snape asked
"Nothing" Draco said looking around
"I swore to help you with this but I can't keep you and her out of it. You chose her, so I am watching out for her but I was chosen for you so do me a favor and stop risking all three of our lives"
Draco didn't say anything but he left the hallway after Snape was done I looked at Harry "What do you think he means?"
"I think that her is you, how are you involved?"
"I don't know..."
Harry didn't say anything when we arrived back at the party He left soon after dropping me off with Hermione I caught her up on what we heard, it killed the party mood so we both left and went back to our dorms
After not being able to sleep I got up and stared wondering through the hallways I knew where the secret tunnels were because of Fred, so I knew I couldn't get caught
My path led me to the room of requirements again I looked down the hallway and heard someone talking I didn't move, I knew even from far away the voice was Draco's He told, who I assume, Crabbe and Goyle to stay while he went into the room He walked around the corner and saw me standing there by the door
He didn't say anything He walked up to the entrance of the room and silently requested the door to open When it did he walked in
I stayed where I was, I didn't know if I could follow him or if I should
The door started to close I turned around and started walking away until I heard Draco again "Come in" he said
