Chapter 29

Jake

I felt terrible she wouldn't leave me alone even though i told her to go home but it actually felt good to have her here
Jake " What time is it ?"
Doctor " it's almost 10 in the evening "
I tried to move but this shit hurt more than I care to admit a bullet never does anyone any good.
Doctor "  you need some more pain medication it'll put you to sleep "
After that declaration he just gave me the injection. I was looking at her .Was she smiling ?
Mc " Here it comes "
Jake " what ?"
Mc " you'll see "
Why did I feel high, oh shit . This was how she felt.

Mc

I knew what that pain medication did to you i just looked at him and smiled dad was standing right there he started laughing
Dad " what did you give him ?"
Mc " it's the high before he comes crashing down "
Jake " knock knock "
Mc " oh boy here we go , you answer him dad "
Dad " nope "
Mc " Fine , who's there ?"
Jake " Boo hoo "
Mc " boo hoo who ?"
Jake " boo hoo somebody is crying and it's not me "
He started laughing like a loon
Mc " yep really mature jake "
Jake " you're so pretty ,come here i wanna tell you something "
Mc " how much did you give him ?"
Doctor " the normal dosage , nurse make sure the drip is set properly "
I pulled aside so she could check it and he started acting like an idiot while laughing . He was whispering to the nurse
Jake " what are you doing , don't touch me my wife is right there she'll beat you up "
He tried pulling away from the nurse, she looked at me i just shook my head
Mc " jake she's not doing anything to you she needs to make sure you're okay "
Jake " I don't want her to touch me "
I walked over and sat next to him
Mc " look at me "
Jake " you're beautiful ,can we get married ?"
Mc " umm babe we're already married"
Jake " woohoo I'm married see "
He started laughing harder well this was fun i saw it he was starting to feel it
Mc " you want to sleep don't you ?"
Jake " yes stay with me angel "
He was out i just looked at the doctor my dad looked guilty
Mc " you gave him extra didn't you ?"
Dad " i don't want him to be in pain "
By the next morning  when he was awake my dad already had everything set he would be going home but no work or no movement he was mad as hell that he had to use a wheelchair he was quiet on the ride home .
Mc " are you okay jake "
Jake " no I'm not love we'll talk when we get  home "

Dan tried to kill her but i got in the way why can't they leave leave us alone  after we got home everyone was there
Lilly " hey how are you ?"
Jake " I'm fine "
I tried walking and this shit hurt
Mc " I'm sorry but he needs to drink the pain medicine it's going to put him to sleep "
Phil " it's okay we'll be right here "
Mc " Mac can you guys help me get him up to our room "
After mac and Phil helped me up to our room she walked in with her dad and mom behind her .
Mom" how are you feeling jake "
Jake " I'm okay the pain isn't so bad "
Mom " okay why don't you get some rest "
Jake " Dad i need you to call the director for me "
Dad " i already Did son , just rest everything is taken care of "
Jake " okay "
After they left she walked in with my pain meds and a bottle of water .
Mc " time for your meds "
Jake " come lay here with me angel "
Mc " jake you need to drink this "
Jake " I'll drink it later i just need to hold you for a while "
She got onto the bed and laid on the other side of me i pulled her closer to me
Jake" i was scared angel i can admit it i was scared i wouldn't wake up that i Lost you "
Mc " i was scared too "
Jake " i thought i heard something "
Mc " heard what "
Jake " i heard someone say they've forgotten how to live without me "
Mc " i have i don't really remember what life was like without you and I don't want to remember "
Jake " Talia "
Mc " who ?"
Jake " my princess it's either Talia or Ava " you're already angel "
Mc " how long ago did you choose that name ?"
Jake " Since i found out you were pregnant ".
She just looked at me smiling
Jake " i love you angel i really do even though I'm here in pain , I'm happy and content "
Mc " i love you too jake , umm quick question since when have you called my father Dad ?"
Jake " well you didn't tell about the properties or the shares "
Mc " i forgot about that "
Jake " Where's Dan ?"
Mc " Don't know dad was pissed I've only ever seen him like that once "
Jake " I'll talk to him myself , babe i'm hungry i need to eat ".
Mc " Gerald should be bringing something up for you in a few minutes"

Gerald did show up and he brought soup mom's order. Jake wasn't happy about that but he ate it .
Jake " how are you feeling ?"
Mc " I'm okay "
Jake " Are you sure ?"
Mc " yes i am , last night was interesting "
Jake " Dan shooting me was interesting ?"
Mc " you don't remember ?"
Jake " remember what ?"
I started laughing. This was amazing. He didn't remember I was keeping this to myself .
Jake " What is it love ?"
Mc " nope and I'm warning dad and the doc also the nurse not to say anything "
Jake " fine I'll find out "
Mc " time for your meds "
I gave him his meds as I was about to walk away when he  grabbed my hands .
Mc " what is it ?"
Jake " Can I get a kiss ?"
Mc " you don't have to ask "
Jake " we'll be happy won't we mc?"
Mc " Yes we will Jake , we have friends and family we are where we're supposed to be , we have each other and that's all that matters "
Jake " thank you angel "
Mc " you're welcome love go to sleep we'll all still be here when you wake up"
I watched him as he fell asleep Lilly walked into the room so i followed her out to the living room
Lilly " how is he ?"
Mc " in more pain than he cares to admit "
Lilly " And you ?"
Mc " I'm fine I'm just worried about him"
Lilly " actually i came to tell you we're leaving later today "
Mc " Don't leave yet please wait until tomorrow "
Lilly " Okay I'll let them know ,are you sure ?"
Mc " yes I'm sure ,but you're not staying for me you're staying for him i promised him you would all still be here when he woke up "
Lilly " okay I'll talk to the others "
