- Story takes place right after John B and Sarah come back in season 2 - 

JJ's POV:

Sarah and John B had just come back and we were all sitting around the fire. Pope and I were fake fighting and after, Kie got up and was leaving with Pope. She was going to hook up with him. My heart started racing, I was filling with anger and I could feel my heartbreak.

"Kie!" I called out her name

"What do you want JJ?" She asked annoyed

"I need to talk to you."

"Tell me tomorrow.." She said walking towards Pope

"I can't... Please.." I said as John B gave me a look

Pope looked pissed at me and I don't blame him. He wanted to get laid for the first time.

Kie was super annoyed and she walked up to me and said, "So talk, make it fast."

"Can we talk inside?"

"Fine." She said following me inside to John B's room

We were alone and she was pissed at me. I started having a complete panic attack. I can't do this to Pope. I couldn't control myself anymore I blurted out, "You can't sleep with Pope."

"Why the hell not? You can't tell me what I can and cannot do."

"Because I'm in love with you and I have been since you joined the pogues."

"Really, JJ? Do you think now is a convenient time to bring this up?  You love every girl you look at."

"Kie, it's you and it always has been. Yes, I've hooked up with way too many girls because it's easy with them, with them it means nothing. I want you, all of you. I don't just want to hook up with you. I want to date you, hell, I want to marry you. I want the whole damn thing with you but I never said anything because I know that I will never be enough for you and you deserve the world."

"So you're just telling me this now because you don't want me to go sleep with Pope...Great friend, JJ. I'll be sure to tell Pope." She said rolling her eyes as she left

She went outside and she left on the HMS Pogue with Pope. Shit. I lost Kie forever. There was no way I could pretend like I didn't just confess my love to her. I was a horrible friend to Pope and Kie knew that. I would probably be an awful boyfriend to her, so many this is for the best. 

Rafe and Berry showed up and started shooting at us. I was glad Kie wasn't here, it meant she was safe. Part of me wished they'd just kill me so I wouldn't have to think about what Pope and Kie were doing right now.

The next morning, they came back with the boat and we were ready to leave with them. I noticed things were awkward between the two of them. I didn't talk to either one of them. It wasn't until we were on the island that Kie made eye contact with me across the fire and motioned her head like she wanted me to follow her. We left the fire together and walked away from the group. We were walking down the beach and she stopped and looked at me.

"So what's the big secret?" I asked breaking the silence

She didn't say anything. She just hugged me said, "Thank you for not dying."

I held onto her and said, "Thank you for saving me..."

"J, I'm so sorry for everything."

"I'm over it, if you want to be with Pope then go be happy with him before Cleo takes him."

"Cleo can have him because I want you. I never slept with Pope. I just went with him to piss you off after our conversation. I shouldn't have done. I shouldn't have let you spill your heart out to me and leave things that way. I promise you, nothing happened with Pope. I love Pope and John B like my brothers, but I don't love you like a brother. I love you, J, and I want the whole damn thing with you too.." 

I leaned down and I kissed her. I had been waiting for this moment forever. The kiss was better than I could have ever imagined. I pulled her closer to me and she slightly opened her mouth and we were kissing with tongue. We were soon laying in the sand, making out. We moved back into the grassy area and clothes were coming off.

"Are you sure, Kie?" I asked

"Yes, are you?"

"I've been waiting for this moment since we were in seventh grade" I replied kissing her

We walked back to the group about forty minutes later. Kie was wearing my shirt over her swimsuit and she was carrying her clothes. I was waking back in my shorts, shirtless. We were holding hands. We got back to the group and everyone knew what we just did and part of me secretly loved that.  

We sat down next and Kie sat in between my legs and I wrapped my arms around her and John B said, "Damn, JJ finally got the girl he's been in love with..."

"Hell yeah, I did.." I said kissing the top of Kie's head

We sat there talking and then everyone was falling asleep. Kie slept in my arms and I knew that I wanted to wake up to her beautiful face every single day for the rest of my life.
