Tanjiro finds you in the typical spot. Your back pressed against the wood exterior wall of the house. Stargazing at the marvelous night sky.

"You really like stars." His words are playful as he takes a seat beside you. Lightly pressing his arm against you.

Autumn is around the corner and the Japanese lessons have slowed to once a week. The wildflowers have brought in a large profit. Paying for your teaching and even helping the family prepare for winter.

Having conversations is finally becoming easy for you now. "I haven't seen the stars this clearly in years."

"You can't see the stars in your country?"

Deciding you don't want to explain pollution to him or that our world is slowly dying. He might finally decided you are crazy.

"I lived in a big city. In the country, it is easier to see the stars." You explain and he seems content with your answer. Feeling excited you point up. "Do you see that star there?"

A slight blush against his cheeks. His eyes look you over before scooting closer and trying to follow the direction you are pointing at.

"That's the Big Dipper

"That's the Big Dipper. The four stars forming a rectangle and four more for the handle. It looks like a pan you cook with."

You can't tell if Tanjiro fully understands or is just agreeing with you but he smiles. "It does look like a pan. Like clouds taking different shapes?"

"No." You tease him wrinkling up your nose. "The stars are always in the same position. Those.." Failing for the correct word you say constellation in English then return to speaking in Japanese. "They are the same every single day."

Tanjiro raises an eyebrow at you. "That doesn't make sense. The sky is always changing."

Finally it my turn to teach you something.

You don't want to go too deep into an explanation. Knowing it's too early to explain that the sun and our solar system are slowly rotating through our own Galaxy known as the Milky Way.

"Actually, the earth is spinning around while the stars and sun hold still." You settle for this childish answer. Smiling while you explain. Tanjiro remains quiet as he processes this concept.

"Every night you can see this pan?"

"Yes. There are several others I can show you. They are called constellations."

"Where did you learn all of this?" His ruby red eyes watching you closely. A slight blush rushing to your cheeks.

"School. I promise you it is true."

"I believe you." He smiles and nudges your arm. "You are really smart."
