"After Jiraiya knocks out Ebisu, Naruto is left without a tutor. Naruto manages to convince Jiraiya to tutor him by using his Sexy Jutsu. While Jiraiya oversees Naruto's training, he quickly realizes that Naruto is the host of the Nine-Tails. Jiraiya unlocks the seal that Orochimaru had placed on Naruto in the forest, and Naruto quickly grasps the concept of walking on water. Afterwards, Jiraiya speaks with Naruto about his two kinds of chakra."
Analysis
Naruto used Jiraiya's weakness to convince him to be his tutor. Naruto managed to do so using his Sexy Jutsu, which sort of brought a sense of humour to the episode. Moreover, Jiraiya helps to lighten the mood in this episode, making us forget about the finals for a while.
Moreover, Jiraiya quickly realized that Naruto is the host of the Nine-Tails. For example, Jiraiya unlocks the seal that Orochimaru has placed on Naruto in the forest. This makes us wonder if he is from the leaf village and if he has ties to Orochimaru, hence making us wonder what the connection is between him and Orochimaru. Orochimaru's seal is the reason Naruto was struggling to walk on water. Therefore, there is a foreshadowing technique where we are given a hint of what will happen later in the plot.
Jiraiya plays an important part in this episode because he makes things easier for Naruto's training, which is walking on water. This means that if Naruto was still training under Ebisu, he wouldn't have been able to walk on water. Moreover, Ebisu would not have been aware of the seal that was hindering Naruto's training. Therefore, Naruto would have wasted his time; hence, Ebisu wasn't the right teacher for him. It was fate that brought Naruto and Jiraiya together.
Jiraiya spoke with Naruto about his two kinds of chakra. The two kinds are Naruto's chakra and the Nine Tails Chakra. Naruto, however, doesn't know about the Nine Tails Chakra or how to control it yet. Therefore, Jiraiya plays an important part in this episode because he is the one who is going to teach Naruto how to obtain the Nine-Tails Chakra. In other words, Jiraiya is one of the most important characters in the Naruto anime series. Jiraiya is likely to be the one to help Naruto win his match in the finals and conquer other difficult obstacles.
The lesson from this episode is that everything happens for a reason since Naruto got a better teacher than Ebisu to train him for the finals.
