Analysis

In a flashback, Sasuke Uchiha reminisces about the night his entire clan was killed and how he came home to find his parents dead and Itachi standing over them. Confronting his brother, Sasuke is subject to Itachi's Tsukuyomi, who shows him how he killed the clan, causing Sasuke to collapse from the experience. The episode reveals more about Sasuke's story, hence why the flashback technique was used. It clearly shows Sasuke's memories, from being happy as a kid going to the Ninja Academy to being frightened when he returns home. His brother, Itachi Uchiha, killed his parents and everyone in the Uchiha clan. Therefore, this is why Sasuke has a deep hatred for Itachi. Itachi makes things worse when he activates the Tsukuyomi to show Sasuke the tragic memories again; hence, exposition is used in this episode. The exposition was used to show background information about the events that happened in Sasuke's past. Furthermore, the exposition shows that there is bad blood between Itachi and Sasuke in the sense that their relationship is strained and complicated. Moreover, to signify the intensity of the situation, dramatic music plays in the background. The reason why Itachi killed the Uchiha Clan is still a mystery, hence why it will be revealed in the other anime, Naruto Shippuden. Itachi Uchiha as a character brings out a sense of mystery that makes one want to know more about him. Moreover, Itachi is the source of pain, hatred, and suffering that Sasuke had to endure at an early age, which makes him a villain.

Back in the present time, as Kisame and Itachi contemplate how best to carry Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke arrives and attacks Itachi with his Chidori. Uninterested in their quarrel, Itachi effortlessly stops the attack. This shows Itachi is a skilled shinobi because he is not an easy opponent to defeat, to the extent that Kakashi also failed to defeat him. This is because of his jutsu, Tsukuyomi. What's the mystery behind it? How did Itachi obtain it? This will probably be revealed in the other anime, Naruto Shippuden.

Naruto attempts to summon a toad, but Kisame absorbs his chakra before he can do so and proceeds to attack. Jiraiya arrives to block the attack. This reveals more about Kisame's sword, where it is revealed that it can absorb chakra. Where did Kisame get the sword? This will probably be revealed in the other anime, Naruto Shippuden.
Jiraiya arrives to save Naruto right on time. What will happen next? This leaves the audience in suspense until the next episode.
