"Keep on Training: Pop Goes the Water Balloon!"

"Soon after his training begins, Naruto finds himself unable to make any progress. After asking Jiraiya for tips, Naruto decides he will master the jutsu in three days. Jiraiya doubts the likelihood that Naruto will live up to this promise, explaining that the Rasengan was developed by the Fourth Hokage over three years. He then goes on to explain that popping the balloon is only one of three steps, and he leaves Naruto to resume his training. Naruto soon discovers that popping the balloon is easier if he uses both of his hands after observing a cat and progresses to the second step."

Analysis

This episode reveals more about the ninja technique, Rasengan. It was developed by the fourth Hokage over three years. Moreover, Jiraiya was once a teacher to the fourth Hokage, hence why Jiraiya doubted that Naruto would master the jutsu in three days. So far, this series keeps mentioning the fourth Hokage. So far, we know he died to save the village, and now we are aware that he created the Rasengan. Therefore, this fourth Hokage character brings a sense of mystery to the anime series. It makes one curious to know who he is and what other techniques he possesses, hence why his character is revealed in the sequel, Naruto Shippuden.

Despite Jiraiya doubting Naruto, Naruto decides to master it no matter what. He never gives up, because that's his ninja way. Naruto practised the first phase of the jutsu for days with no luck. After some time, he soon discovers that popping the balloon is easier if he uses both of his hands after observing a cat, and he progresses to the second step. Naruto has found a way with clear determination, hence making this episode inspiring.

The lesson from this episode is that we shouldn't let other people's opinions define our progress because you never know until you try. There is always a way to achieve our goals. We should never give up, just like Naruto did with his first phase of training with the Rasengan.
