The main song of this chapter is "gorgeous" by Taylor Swift.
Amelia
As we excited the alley, the light shone brighter and I was able to see his face clearly.
I was stunned by what I saw. Before me was standing the most gorgeous man I had ever laid my eyes upon. The saying of 'greek god' was totally made for him.
He was standing proudly with a tall height of about 6'3, really tall compared to my 5'4. With an expensive Armani suite and equally expensive Rolex.
Shoulders broad and almighty. The suite clung to him like a second skin, showing off his muscles.
A sharp and chiseled jaw with cheekbones that even celebrities would weep for. Plump rosy red lips that looked like freshly ripened apples. But that's not the most outstanding features of his.
What captivated me the most were is euphoric green eyes that reminded me of the evergreen forest, they were partially covered by his brown chocolatey curls, trimmed on the sides, long and luscious on the top.
Pointed nose and bushy yet perfect eyebrows which seemed to complement his masculine features.
He looked as if God had taken his time to sculp and create him.
I opened and closed my mouth like a fish out of the water, unable to form a coherent sentence and get the words out.
All the while when I was staring him, he patiently stood in front of me, just looking at me with no expression whatsoever.
"Would you like me to drop you home?", I was snapped out of my day dream when he said this.
Home.....shit, shit, shit. I was supposed to bring groceries and a beer for dad. Oh God I am definitely late. My eyes went wide, gears shifting in my head, figuring out how I am gonna escape dad's wrath.
"Yeah um...no I mean no... I'll go on my own, once again thank you for helping me", I stuttered out.
He looked at me a moment longer, maybe trying to figure me out. Another moment then he nodded his head, seeming to decide.
"No need to thank me, any decent man would have done the same thing and are you sure you can go on your own?", he once again asked... looking unsure.
These kinds of incidents have been a common reoccurring, just that before today my dad's friends used to do this to me and today they were strangers trying to do it. Of course I don't tell him that, instead I reassure him one again.
"Yeah I am sure, but thanks for offering", just for the sake of it, I added a polite smile.
He looked at me like he was debating in his head whether to leave me or rather debating that 'is that girl crazy to stay alone this late?!'. I hope not the latter one.
"Well then, I'll be going.", he said.
He nodded his head with a small smile and turned to leave. He reached his car, which was no doubt expensive. Just as he was about to open the door he turned around.
"What's your name little fighter?", he asked, looking as if he was scolding himself for forgetting to ask that.
"It's Amelia...sir",
"Goodbye Amelia"
I don't know why but when he said my name, my chest fluttered. Like a cage of butterfly was released in my stomach. 'Maybe it's food poisoning', my consciousness added, 'how could it be good poisoning when your parents haven't even given you food from the last 2 days?' .....she even rolled her eyes. That sassy meanie.
God I am definitely going crazy.
With a final glance at me, he entered his car, shut the door and a moment later he drove off, leaving me yearning for just another glance of him.
I started walking, no running in the direction of the store.
As I reached there, the store was closed. What?! No, no, no...it can't be. Is today the only day Mr Gregory you decided to close your store early.
I am definitely going to get a beating today. Now just a slap or a punch, No! A full blown beating with leather belt, broken bottle of glass and whatnot.
'No Mia, you can't give up this easily!', I scolded myself.
With a determined exhale, I walked around a couple more stores for around half an hour. Nothing was open. Not a single store.
With a defeated sigh, I decided to head home. 'home', what a lovely word. For others home is a place where they can feel the warmth of their family, where the sound of laughter carries through the air, where every cooked meal radiated love and adoration.
At the end of the day, people yearn to go home, to be in the arms of their loved ones. But to me, home is the last place I wanna go.
After a few minutes the familiar streets and houses came into the view.
'guess it's time to face dad'I climbed up the steps of porch, which was in a dire need of paint. I quietly opened the door using spare key, careful not to make any sound.
The lights were off so I couldn't really see if someone, more so me dad was awake or not.
I took off my coat and hung it in the rack. The house was eerie silent. I felt someone watching me, turning my head in all directions I found no one. The couch was empty, the kitchen was empty, even the T.V was off.
Hope radiated within me. 'Maybe he was too drunk to stay alive and fell asleep' or 'maybe he went out at his friend's home'. A very small smile touched my lips.
I felt his breath hit my neck before I heard the words.
"Back so soon, aren't you?", dad asked sarcastically. He whispered in my ear.
A tremor roller through my body. Goosebumps appeared and the stinging behind my eyes returned.
I wanted to cry so, so badly. But I know that I can't do that.
All of a sudden he gripped my hand and twisted it backwards. A strangled cry left my lips, then a whimper.
"Answer me you slut!", he yelled angrily in my ear. A tear finally managed to escape my eyes, staining my cheek
I am so dead tonight.
