'Empty Handed'

The trainees were amazed by Elmer's performance. The same guy who was behind them when he joined is now probably stronger than all of them, and that was just unacceptable.

He did motivate them to work harder.

Even though they were supposed to join in and try to arrest or kill him like the rest of the knights, none of them saw Elmer as the enemy.

After the first prince disappeared the same way he appeared, everyone went back to their work, but the fire that was light inside most of them was still there.

Louis approached Edwin, who was standing alone in his position.

"I met Elmer"

He suddenly said.

"What?"

The young man was surprised he did not know what to say or why the prince was telling him that.

"He said that he will take care of Victor"

Once Louis said those words, Edwin's eyes sparkled. He was so happy to know that his friend was doing well and that he did not give up.

"Thank you for telling me!"

He smiled, bowing his head.

Louis smiled back and then left.

Even though it all went well, Aylin was still in his mind.

He did not know how to face her, yet he wanted her back as soon as possible.

He was very surprised that she was able to find Elmer within a day even though Asher, who knew her for so long, assumed that it would take her at least one week.

It only made him more curious about her. Even though he usually hates not knowing anything that's going on around him, when it comes to Aylin, he feels differently.

As if he could accept anything, she would tell him as long as she stays close where he could see hee.

'Why is it so complicated?'

Louis thought to himself.

"Let's wrap it up for today,"

Alexander shouted, causing all the trainees to come around and started getting ready to end their day.

They were fired up about the Elmer they just saw. All of them had one clear goal.

To surpass their limits just like he did.

She was watching that colourful sunset from the top of the stay-in house they were at.

It was very purplish.

"He is a good kid, don't you think?".

Evan asked once she heard his footsteps.

He quietly sat down next to her, replying,

"Does it matter what I think?"

"Leo might be looking for us by now"

He then added.

For that, she said nothing, but she thought the same.

Yet after what they did witness today, it would be a lie if any of them said that he is not willing to put his trust in Elmer.

They all had hope, no matter how small or big. It was there. A spark of blue hope such as the one Venator saw before.

The darkness fell upon Lydia's sky.

Hawk was lying on his bed, trying to get some sleep since they've decided to leave first thing tomorrow morning.

The room right next to his was Elmer's.

The window was fully open as she stared deeply into that starry night sky.

The prince took one look at her troubled face before he asked,

"What's on your mind, Aylin?"

She turned around wearing a troubled face.

"It's about Louis"

Aylin replied.

That night was pretty cold.

As those three were presented before the king who sat in his throne with his advisor standing right by his side.

"You let him say his little moving words and run?"

Leo has never looked more pissed off.

His glare could kill.

"You have some audacity to come and face me empty-handed,"

He then added.

The three who were down on one knee had nothing to say.

"Should I just kill you?"

The room was already quiet but a heavy silence fell upon their shoulders since they knew very well that he was serious.

Louis walked outside of Edmund's room after putting him to sleep and then headed towards the girls' chamber.

His busy days never made him forget to take care of everyone else in his own way.

"My prince!"

Clair's voice calling for him made Louis stop for a second to turn down.

Her scared expression made him worry more.

The king called the guards in. So many of them circled around the throne.

Nine guards stepped in, and three held each of the men down tightly.

Alexander was the only one who did not move or try to defend himself.

On the other hand, Asher and Ezra managed to push the guards away.

Leo got up, he approached Ivor, and suddenly pulled out his advisor's sword since he did not have his in hands.

He then turned around and walked towards Asher.

The red-haired knight did not move for a while.

"I never liked you, Asher"

Leo said, pointing his sword towards Asher's neck.

Ivor tried to step in, yet the door was wide open, and all eyes were pointed on the second prince who just walked in.

"Father"

He said, walking towards the king.

"What is it?"

Leo asked with his fierce voice.

"Why did you keep them alive to start with?"

Louis asked, referring to Asher and Ezra mostly since he knows that Leo would never be dumb enough to kill Lydia's first general.

"Do you know how many people follow these two? They're Lydia's honoured knights"

Louis then added.

"What are you trying to say?"

The king asked.

"You did not hear Elmer's speech today, everyone was moved, he has all the people by his side, all we have left are these knights, I say one wrong move before the people turns against us lead by Elmer himself"

The second prince said.

His words did make so much sense.

The three older knights could feel the tension between those two royalty, and it was spreading all over the room. It was unbearable.

Everyone was surprised when Leo put the sword down. He walked towards Ivor to hand it back to him before he sat back on his throne.

"Send every single knight, guard, use commoners, Theodore's men, anything and anyone around the area he was seen at today, i want it locked down and searched very well, bring him to me"

The king ordered the guards.

"The three of you are not allowed to join in this, end that training of yours soon and stay out of my sight"

He then added.

Even though Louis managed to save their lives, it seemed like Elmer's was still in danger...
