'Back to back'

A little before dawn, he finally opened his eyes.

Louis did not sleep much, but it was never a big deal for him since he was very used to sleepless nights.

He got up and headed towards the shower, hoping a cold one would help him get ready for his new day.

Ivor's was already leaving the palace.

Even though he was the king's advisor, he never took anyone with him and never needed someone's company.

He had all he needed. Himself.

Ezra, who just got out of the shower, looked towards the door of his room as if he were expecting something.

"Two days"

It has been two days since Aylin left.

He always wondered how could anyone come into his room without him realizing it.

And now he figured that Aylin was the one bringing in those letters.

He still couldn't tell who is the person she is trying to help but he thought he should tell her to not give them any false hope.

He then got ready and walked outside his room, heading towards the meeting point with the rest of the trainees.

Ezra was a little surprised to see everyone there, but Asher.

"Where is Asher?"

Alexander asked.

"I will be back"

Ezra replied as he head back in a rush.

The res haired knight was up before everyone else.

Yet right before he leaves his room. Someone suddenly knocked on his door.

Asher opened the door only to get a uug from his one and only daughter.

He said nothing but wrapped her gently between his arms.

Aylin had such a relieved smile on her pretty face, as if she needed that warm hug all along.

Once they let go, Asher just had to ask her even though she had no single scratch on her fair skin.

"Are you alright?"

She smiled, replying,

"Yes!"

"Elmer did great, don't you think so!"

She then added in excitement.

"Yeah"

He calmly replied.

Not long after they heard another knocking on the door while someone called for Asher.

Such a familiar voice.

Aylin opened the door and jumped on Ezra who was caught by surprise before he smiled brightly, shouting,

"You're back!"

"Yes!"

She replied.

As they matched the same energy, Asher was in the backgeound, watching them as peace fell upon his worried heart.

"Also, Elmer left Kardia so you don't have to worry about him"

The Petrian said.

They looked at each other and let out such a heavy sigh of relief. Then smiled before Ezra started laughing.

"You only bring good news, kiddo."

Ezra said while patting her head.

They almost got lost in the moment before they snapped out of it.
