She sat watching the sky change its colour.
The darkness getting lighter.
The stars were almost fading away.
The cold slipped out.
It was dawn for sure.
Once Alex woke up in the room, they rented.
The other side of the bed was empty.
He saw the window open and knew for sure where the one he was looking for was.
"Are you alright, my rose?"
Alex asked, putting a coat upon her shoulders and sat right next to her.
She leaned closer and rested her head on his shoulder, trying to pass that heavy feeling to him.
Since she could no longer carry it by herself.
"I feel bad for the kid, is that weird?"
Rose asked.
"I wonder if he would have been able to turn things around towards the good side someday"
She then added.
Alex said nothing.
He was sure she was not near done, and he was her good listener.
So he kept playing with her hair.
"I never had a doubt about any of our missions, I would do anything for our family to be safe and happy"
Rose went on about how their friends were able to get some great starts after turning sixteen and leaving the orphanage.
Not only that, the orphanage has never been better.
The food is more than enough.
The kids play in big grounds.
The rooms are clean and warm.
A proper education has been provided.
All of those changes were because of the gold they got from serving the king.
"Don't get me wrong, I am very grateful to all of this I just- I don't know honestly"
Rose then sighed in confusion.
"I know"
Alex then said.
"I asked myself if I was the prince, would I risk it all for the sake of the people, my answer is still no"
Her eyes sparkled while staring back at his.
Every time she finds it hard to understand herself, he does it for her.
"Me too, he is brave and cute"
Rose said.
"But you're cuter, love"
She smiled, adding.
Alex smiled softly at the sight of her spark getting back to her.
"What would I do without you?"
Rose wondered.
"I guess we will never figure out"
Alex replied while gently patting her head.
They watched the sunrise announcing a new day.
A day they were not ready for, yet had bo choice but to face it.
The palace was very quiet, just like every morning.
Aylin had breakfast with Louis, he then was ready to leave for his training.
