You woke up with a small yawn like you just took a very good nap. You stretched and shook once your muscles relaxed as you lay looking at the traditional ceiling. A traditional Chinese ceiling? Right. You're in Lau's den, everything that happened was in fact real. Hopefully he doesn't report you.
You shook your head to wake yourself up before sitting up and leaning on your hands. You surveyed the room and noted that you were in clothes similar to the ones that Lau's women wore. Except it was longer and didn't have a window at the chest, they even fastened on a matching black corset for you.
You could never remember the proper name, it started with a 'c', but Lau and Ranmao have been gifting them to you during holidays and your birthday for as long as they've known you.
You swung your legs over the couch you've been placed on and placed your weight on your legs before a sharp sting dragged you to the floor.
You looked down and moved the skirt of the dress to the side and looked through the slit to see that your wounds have been treated but blood was seeping through. Now that you notice it you had bruises forming on your knees and hips from all the stumbling you did for not being able to secure yourself properly, they turned the same ugly purple you always hated.
Your shoulders ached quite a bit as well but that was the least of your concerns at the moment. As the door was opened by a worried boy, your brother. "Y/n!" He called for you as you looked at him with wide eyes before they glossed over and were squeezed shut by you before you started crying fat crocodile tears.
He dropped to his knees and held your face to his chest while he rubbed your back and lightly swayed your bodies side to side. "I'm so sorry- brother is sorry. I never meant any of that I'm so sorry! Please forgive me-!" He pleaded as you wailed.
"I take all of that back! I lied! Those were all lies!" He repeated, nearly crying as well because his hand stopped and he just hugged you tightly like you'd leave. "I-I-" you tried speaking but just kept crying.
"You don't have to say anything, I understand if you're mad at me and if I hurt your feelings. But know that I did it for a reason. But you did so good. You did perfect." He praised as he pressed his mouth to your head, muttering into your hair as he kissed your head.
"You- broke our-promise!! And you left me alone-!!" You cried out between gasps of breath, you knew he was lying but you had to make him feel just a little guilty for making you worry. "I know, Y/n, I know. Brother's sorry. I should've never told you that, now look at you." He said as he motioned to your roughed up legs and arms.
"Come now, everyone is worried sick about you." He informed as you nodded and tried standing up but fell down again as pain shot at you, more blood started soaking through. "I forgot about your leg, I'll go get someone." He reassured before leaving the room.
Suddenly Lau bursted in with RanMao in tow and your brother who was frowning at the man. "Countess! You worried us sick when you suddenly came from behind the door! I thought you were dying!" Lau complained as RanMao hoisted you back up on the couch and unwrapped your bandages. "I told you she just woke up! Don't be so loud!" Your brother told the man who brushed him off.
