The next day, Taylor and Travis sat together with Tree for breakfast so Tree could finally talk with Taylor about the schedule for the tour break. Travis was pretty silent and Tree noticed that he didn't look her in the eyes for long. She had an idea why though. Taylor noticed that something was off too but she didn't understand right away. When Travis excused himself to go to the toilet, Tree smirked a little at her. "What?", Taylor asked confused. "Did you tell him that I heard you yesterday? He hasn't looked at me once", Tree explained. Taylor thought back for a second and then giggled a little uncomfortable. "I did. Do you think he's embarrassed?", she asked her publicist. Tree just shrugged. "You better not remind him then that your security next door most likely heard everything too", she said. Taylor blushed even more. She didn't like that either. "I'm sorry", she mumbled out of reflex. "You've got nothing to apologize for, Taylor. Have your fun", Tree chuckled and winked at her so that her bright red cheeks stayed red a little longer. "As long as you leave it in the hotel", the publicist added not knowing how much Taylor then had to lie when she assured her about that. She had had her hand in his pants at a restaurant yesterday after all.
When they had successfully planned the last parts of Taylor's schedule, Tree left again. They'd have a couple more hours before they had to leave for the stadium. If it wasn't the first show in a city, they usually only had a very short soundcheck right before the fans could enter. "Got some time for us, hm?", Travis smiled and sat down on the bed gesturing for her to come over. Of course, Taylor cuddled up to him happily. "Were you embarrassed that Tree heard us?", she asked after a couple of minutes. "Was it that obvious?", he asked back with a little blush. Taylor just nodded and turned to kiss him. "She just reminded me that we shouldn't take it out of the hotel room", she smirked. "But she didn't notice anything yesterday, did she?", he immediately asked a little worried. "No, then she wouldn't have been so chill", Taylor said knowing that Tree would probably rip her head off if she knew. Travis nodded in understanding and kissed her again.
"I'm so happy that I can take you back home with me soon", he sighed. "We're gonna fly to New York", she said confused because his home was technically in Kansas. "I know. I mean, I feel more at home wherever you are but America in general feels more homely than this country where you greeted me with a fish chocolate thing", he explained making her chuckle. "You're gonna be alone at my place a lot though. We have to practice a lot for the new set", she explained. "As long as you come home to me", he just shrugged watching her grin at him. "I always will", she smiled. "Oh, and you wanted to come and visit me at practice. Maybe we can find time for that too", she remembered. He nodded and hugged her again. "I don't know why but it's so fascinating to watch you work", he explained. "Maybe I can sneak in for one of your practices too someday", she smiled. "Coach doesn't like that but maybe you get some bonus points over your dad", Travis said honestly. "You'll see, I can be very convincing", she answered. "Oh, I know!", he laughed making her laugh too.
They cuddled and joked around until it was time to get ready. Then they met with Tree and made their way to the stadium while Tree gave the normal update on public opinions regarding today's concert. She usually told Taylor if there were any celebrities expected or if there were any issues with the fans' arrivals or anything else important. "Well, and I guess today's most important celebrity is already right here", she joked at Travis making the couple chuckle and blush. "No, honestly. There's not anything super special going on today. Just have fun", Tree clarified. "Okay, sounds good, thank you", Taylor smiled and took Travis' hand that had been lying on top of hers before.
They arrived soon and made their quick soundcheck before Taylor sat down to get her hair and makeup done. "Oh, can I paint your nails too?!", she asked Travis excitedly after she had finished her colorful nails. "No", he laughed not leaving room for any discussion. "Please! Just one?", she looked at him with her best puppy eyes to the amusement of her stylist. "One? Who does that even?", he laughed not moving from his position on the small couch. "C'mon just one color for the pinkie?", she didn't let go. "Nope", he repeated looking at her through the mirror. She sighed and went on to ignore him. He found it quite cute and just watched her getting ready.
Tree later wanted to pick her up and bring her to the stage. Travis would have to get to his spot too. Taylor was in her first outfit and the nervous excitement of every show started to kick in. She had still not said a word to him since he had declined her painting his nails. Suddenly, a wave of anxiety hit her. "Tree, can you wait a minute?", she asked. "Two minutes, not longer", the publicist said and waited in front of the door again. "Trav, wait", Taylor held him back from picking up his stuff. He looked at her surprised. "I'm sorry, I'm not mad or anything. Please don't think this is an actual fight", she told him quickly. He chuckled and pulled her into a careful hug. "I'm not going to fight with you over nail polish, Tay. We're good. Get out there now, hm?", he said making her let out a relieved breath. He knew that her anxiety came from the nervousness that every show came with rather than from their little fake fight. She just needed some reassurance and everything was fine. "Okay. Thank you", she smiled up at him. "I love you. Have fun!", he told her and gave her a very quick peck on the red lips. "I love you too", she answered and then Tree knocked on the door again, so they had to go.
