A couple of days later, Taylor was on her way to Kansas following Travis because Patrick had invited both of them to a charity event for his organization. And of course, they both wanted to be there even though Taylor had a tough schedule with her practices and some other meetings. She managed to be there a day before the actual event though and they wanted to go golfing with some of Travis' friends. Well, he would be golfing. Taylor just wanted to be his personal support. "Do you really wanna come with us? I understand if you're tired. You've had practice all week", Travis said when they cuddled up on the couche for a while before they'd have to leave. "I wanna cheer you on. Just without a stadium of people around this time", she smiled leaning against him. "I love you, baby", he mumbled into her hair and kissed her head. "I love you too", Taylor looked up to kiss him on the lips.
Soon they had to get ready and leave and not long after that, they stood on some greens in the sun with a few of his friends and their plus-ones. They had a bunch of fun. So much so that Taylor didn't notice how much the sun was glaring down at them and when they went home later, she had gotten sunburned. "You should've said something! We could've taken breaks under some trees or something! And sunscreen...", Travis began to lecture her worriedly when they entered his house and he noticed. Taylor silenced him with a kiss. "I didn't even notice it, Trav. It's gonna go away soon", she just said. "But it's not healthy! We should've...", he began again but Taylor kissed him again. "I haven't had enough fun to forget that I might get sunburned in forever. Count it as a win", she smiled and finally, he dropped it and kissed her once more.
The next day, Taylor woke up early because she was already nervous about the event they'd be at later. She snuck out of the bedroom and prepared breakfast to distract herself. Travis slept long enough for her to also bake some cinnamon rolls and she was looking through even more recipes when he came downstairs to the kitchen. "Good morning, Allie", he smiled and pulled her in for a hug and a kiss. "Hey", she mumbled. "Are you nervous-baking?", he noticed her tense posture. "How do you...", Taylor looked at him a little embarrassed. He shrugged. It had just looked like it. "Tay, you don't have to worry. It will be like any other day we have been going out. A little more formal, yes. But I'll be right there if you need anything", he tried to calm her nerves still holding her. "The cinnamon rolls still need the icing", she just said but he didn't let her go. "Allie, please", he chuckled and made her look at him with a gentle hand on her cheek. "We'll just have a good time today, okay? Breathe for a second", he asked her and she did take a deep breath relaxing her shoulders a little. "Sorry", she mumbled but he shook his head and kissed her softly. "Don't be. Let's have some breakfast now. Then you can do your icing and then I want to cuddle until we gotta go", he decided making her smile and nod in agreement.
Having Travis around already calmed Taylor down. He watched her finish the cinnamon rolls after breakfast and then they did as he had said and cuddled up on the couch for a while. "You still haven't told me what you're going to wear later", he said. "Because you'll wear black and white and I can choose whatever to make it fit. So, I can surprise you", she explained happily. Taylor's plan worked out until she had to tie her dress behind her back later. Travis heard her cuss through the bathroom door and smiled to himself. "Do you need help, baby?", he asked against the closed door. "No!", she immediately answered. "We gotta go soon", he reminded her. "I'm almost done!", Taylor yelled back annoyed. But she finally managed to tie the dress the way she wanted it to be. Quickly, she touched up her hair and makeup one last time. "I'm ready!", she then told Travis and opened the door.
His eyes were glued to her the moment he saw her. The shimmering green dress hugged her figure perfectly and when she turned around for him to see her bare back, he gulped. "And I'm supposed to not be all over you the whole night, right?", he asked making her blush. "Fuck", he chuckled pulling her to his side for a moment. "You're stunning, baby", he told her before kissing her head. "You look pretty good yourself", she smiled correcting the collar of his shirt. "Okay, I'd be selfish to keep this dress from the world. Let's go", he joked leading her out of the bedroom now. Downstairs, she slipped her heels on and took her clutch. "We really should've been more careful with the sun yesterday", Travis sighed sitting next to her in the car when he noticed the sunburn on her skin again. "It looks worse now because of the green dress. But it doesn't hurt, I promise", she assured him. Travis gently kissed her burned shoulder before she turned her head for an actual kiss.
