Travis arrived in Paris at 2 A.M. local time. He had brought something special next to his usual suitcase hoping Taylor would be okay with it. He was pretty sure that she was still up waiting for him because she'd done this every time he had arrived at night. So he knocked on the door before entering with the card he had gotten at the reception. Tree always made sure he could get his own key card for a while now. Because he wasn't a guest anymore. Taylor heard him enter and immediately jumped off of the couch. She had been falling asleep and waking up a couple of times already but now she was wide awake. "Trav!", she yelled before she even reached him. "Hello pretty lady", he hugged her with a big smile. "What's that?", she immediately noticed the guitar case he had put down only seconds ago. "Well, it's not what it was before, I know that and the guy told me that it probably wouldn't sound the way it had before either but... He used as much of your old guitar as possible and... you could call it repaired maybe", Travis explained insecurely and Taylor instantly took the case to open it.
And of course, she recognized her guitar in this. The front was pretty much new but parts were reused and gently packaged to the side were the unusable broken parts. Carefully, Taylor took out the instrument turning it around a few times. "It's pretty", she mumbled. "I'm so sorry that this is all I could do and that I even broke it in the first place. I know... I know you trusted me leaving it at my place and I fucked up", Travis said watching her inspect the guitar. She looked up at him with a soft smile. That he understood how much a guitar could mean to her made her feel better already. He didn't try to tell her that it was "just a guitar". Instead, he apologized multiple times, truly feeling bad for it even though it was an accident, and tried his best to make it right. "I... I want to be honest, I don't know if I'll play this one often because... it is a little bit of a mosaic but... I know you didn't mean to break it and I love you for trying to fix it and make it right, I really do", she told him.
"Promise me to put any of my instruments away when you invite people over?", she asked him after putting the guitar down again. Travis nodded wrapping his arms around her when she cuddled into his chest. "I promise. And... If you don't want to play it often... You could leave it at my place again so that I have a constant reminder of how I fucked up", he suggested half-serious. Taylor giggled looking up and caressing his cheek. "You don't need to feel bad for it forever. It's okay", she said and pulled him in for a soft kiss. "I love you", he made her smile. "I love you too", she answered before they really had to go to bed.
The next morning, Taylor was up first but she didn't want to leave the bed just yet, so she cuddled into Travis more and relaxed for a while. When she got bored, she flicked through the notebook she had left on the nightstand smiling about some of the lyrics she had come up with in the past few days. Normally she wrote them down on her phone but she still had a paper notebook to scrabble sometimes. Putting it back down, she noticed the door of the nightstand not being fully closed, so she looked into it. Taylor expected to find the usual hotel room Bible or some list for the TV or something similar but instead, her eyes fell on a pair of plushy handcuffs and a ballgag. She couldn't help herself and giggled about that. Tree had booked her the "lover's suite" and until now she hadn't been sure why it was called that.
"What is so funny?", Travis grumbled with a sleepy voice pulling her into his spoon more. She just sighed and closed her eyes again when his lips met her cheek, neck, and shoulder. "I missed you so much", she mumbled. "I missed you too", he whispered still cuddling her close. A couple of minutes later, they decided to get breakfast and went to the bathroom. Sitting down cross-legged on the bed again with the tray of food in between them, they enjoyed a cozy morning. "You know, when I arrived yesterday and picked up the key card. I kinda expected this bed to be heart-shaped or something", Travis noted after noticing the metal tag on the bedpost that said "Lover's lounge". Taylor chuckled and took her last bite of fruit salad. "Me too. But I found the reason for the name of this suite earlier", she explained with a cheeky grin. He looked at her in anticipation. Taylor leaned back, opened the nightstand again, and put the handcuffs and ballgag in her lap. Travis almost spilled his coffee making them both laugh. "Well, the city of love doesn't fail to surprise me", he chuckled. "Or did you order these?", he asked half-jokingly wiggling his brows. Taylor therefore raised a brow at him. "I would've gotten something... more classy", she argued. "Classy handcuffs?", he asked still grinning and now taking the last few sips of his coffee. "Don't you think it looks kinda... not cheap but... very cliché?", she asked.
