„Goood evening to my Japanese pop star!", Travis entered Taylor's hotel room the day before he would attend the next concert with a big hello. He was surprised to not immediately hear her come to the door but a very certain sound explained that. "Tay?! Are you okay?", he asked while looking for the bathroom in the way too big suite. He found her sitting back down in front of the toilet on the floor. "Are you okay?", he asked again worriedly. Taylor looked up a little tired but with a smile. "You're here", she noticed and held a hand up so he could pull her to her feet. "I am. What's going on? Are you not feeling well?", he wanted to know concern still evident on his face. "I just ate something they sold as treats but it tastes like fucking cat food", she explained grabbing a cup to drink some water. Travis chuckled a little. "Bad enough to have you barfin'?", he asked. "Wanna try?", she challenged him instantly and went over to the coffee table in front of the TV to show him the "treats".
Travis took one of the innocent-looking bonbons and unpacked it to smell it. "Smells normal", he noted looking at something chocolatey. He was a picky eater in general but Taylor just looked at him crossing her arms and challenging him to try the thing. He carefully bit off a small piece and immediately spit it out again working hard to not choke out of reflex. "That tastes like fish!", he exclaimed throwing the small "treat" away quickly. Taylor laughed. "That's what I said!", she chuckled and gave him some water too. "That was not what I was expecting when I came here, to be honest", he told her putting his glass away. "What did you expect?", she grinned leaning into his arms already. "Less of a disgusting fishy welcome and more of a sweet beautiful one?", he smiled before finally kissing her. "Like that?", she asked and kissed him again. "Mhh", he agreed against her lips and pulled her closer. Taylor just let her arms slide around his neck so he wouldn't stop and Travis cheekily let his hands find the back pockets of the jeans she was still wearing from earlier.
"You didn't need to stay up for me, you know that", he reminded her of what he had told her on the phone hours before she even played today's show. "And I told you that I couldn't sleep anyway", she shrugged. "I love you, baby", he mumbled lost in her eyes before kissing her again. She smiled knowing exactly how he felt because she felt just the same: In love, giddy, happy to see him. At some point, he just picked her up and carried her to bed not letting go of her lips. "I haven't been to the bathroom yet", she quickly let him know between kisses. He rolled his eyes and let her go for a quick nighttime routine. He did his own too and then they finally cuddled up in bed. "I'm so excited to see your show tomorrow", he told her silently when the lights were out already. Taylor giggled. "You've seen it a couple of times now", she noted. "So what? It's still different every time. And impressive and gorgeous and fun", he listed until she silenced him with a kiss. "You're sweet", she smiled up at him through the darkness. "I mean it, Tay. I'd watch every single one of your shows if I could! Since I know more and more lyrics and all that it's just becoming more fun every time!", he explained.
"It's honestly pretty similar for me too. Every time I'd been to one of your games, I understood one thing more and it feels just so special", she admitted. Now he grinned at her too. "Pat said, you asked so many questions, you could be the coach next season", he told her. Taylor giggled hiding more in his arms. "I'm trying", she mumbled. "I know. I see that. I know that my world is just as strange to get thrown into as yours. And I'm very happy that you weren't scared to just get into it", he said just now noticing that he hadn't told her that before. "Oh, I was so scared", she laughed. "You know how anxious I was to meet everyone and make a good impression", she added. "But you did great! Everyone loves you. Every single person I talked to who has met you in the booth or somewhere was just telling me how fun it was to have you and how great you are", he explained.
"We always get into these surprisingly serious topics randomly in the middle of the night", she noticed. Travis chuckled. "Nighttime brings that don't you think? Besides jet lag", he made her chuckle too. "No, but really. You can be proud of yourself, Tay. Or if it feels better, be proud of us because I think we haven't had it easy and we're doing pretty well", he wanted to let her know specifically. She sighed just happy to hear him say it. He was still able to surprise her with how much he talked to her. About everything. Feelings, future, past, hopes, dreams, fears. After hearing something along the lines of "Don't you see I'm not doing well" for about the last three years without any further explanations most of the time, this felt great. "Thank you, Trav", she decided to just say what was on her mind first. He smiled and kissed her head happy that she didn't try to discuss anything away or give something back just because it would be considered polite. She accepted it and said thank you taking his compliment as it was.
"Good night now hm?", he asked. She nodded tiredly and pulled the blanket up. "Good night, Trav", she whispered. "Good night, Allie", he gave back making her smile one last time before closing his eyes. It took him a while to fall asleep because of the jet lag but he just held her and dreamt about his beautiful girlfriend until he fell asleep too.
