Epilogue

"Hi, Sweetie", Travis greeted Taylor with a hug when she arrived at his place. They were about to record the podcast episode with Jason. Her first podcast. "Hey", she smiled and immediately went to kiss him. Then she noticed how dark the corridor seemed behind him, as if no light was coming from the living space at all. "Did you black out the windows?", she asked confused while entering the house and letting him take off her jacket. "Don't want anyone to listen in or see anything. Pretty special thing we got going on today", he explained before quickly taking her bags. "I'll bring these upstairs", he explained.

Taylor followed him still a bit confused. He seemed... nervous. And she had never seen that before. "You know it's just us, right? There's nothing... crazy going on", she told him. He grinned a little to himself. If she only knew. "We're about to record the announcement of your new masterpiece. I think that's pretty special and I want it to have the kind of reveal it deserves", Travis told her when he had finally put her stuff down next to the bed. "It will be exactly that", she reassured him and hugged him again then.

Kissing his neck, she soaked in his warmth. There wasn't much calm to him right now but she still loved being pressed close to his chest. "Missed you", she mumbled against his skin. "I missed you too. Do you want to eat anything before we get set up?", he asked not letting go and trying to find some peace in her proximity. "I wanted to get changed, put some makeup on, you know... all of that. We had lunch earlier, so I think I'm fine that way", she told him. "I wanted to wear the blue hoodie", he told her as if asking for permission. "The one with the white cords?", she wanted to know while finally letting go of him to grab her blouse.

"Does that work, you think?", he wanted to make sure. "Of course. Baby, you know I like it when you wear blue", she smiled at him and opened her pinned-up hair before changing into her white blouse and turning to the mirror to straighten out some wrinkles. "Light blue or dark blue?", he asked watching her mesmerized. "Any", Taylor winked and then went to the walk-in closet to find her skirt. Travis got changed then too. "I'll set up the desk and everything. Just come over when you're ready", he told her and waited for her to agree before he left.

He had to take a deep breath again. The small box with the ring was waiting in the living room in a drawer so he could grab it on the way out later. There were people in his backyard and garden right now setting up flowers. A photographer would find the best spot to hide. He was more than nervous but there was a whole podcast episode to record. Maybe he should've come up with a better distraction. One where there wouldn't be a camera on him the whole time. He hadn't told Jason either. Of course, he knew that Travis wanted to propose but he didn't know that today was the day.

"Mics, kamera, still good", he mumbled while checking. The podcast team had been here to help with the setup for two people a few hours ago. Travis still double-checked everything. "Chair, headset, water... I'll go and get water", he continued his list and then went to the kitchen. Suddenly, there was a rumble outside. He jumped a little. "Please, just don't look out", he hoped, Taylor didn't care. "Here you are!", she just then appeared in the doorway. "I was just about to get some water for us. Or do you want anything else?", he asked. "No, I'll drink something else later when we're out for dinner. Already awaiting the wine", she told him making him chuckle.

"Then we're good to go. Jason is probably waiting. He told me, he for once wanted to be on time", Travis explained. "I'm sure the girls are making sure that that is not happening", Taylor joked making them both laugh on the way to the set. "You look great, by the way. No idea how I'm supposed to ask you a single serious question", he smiled when they sat down and got comfortable. "Keep it PG, kids will be watching", she giggled but immediately went to pull her chair just a bit closer to his.
