On Thanksgiving, Taylor had to get up a little earlier, because she needed to prepare at least one cake before their families would arrive. Travis got up with her and prepared the living room, dining table, and then some guest bedrooms. "What's the cake doin'?", he entered the kitchen again later. "Don't touch me right now!", she quickly said because she was just concentratedly putting some decor onto her masterpiece of dough. "Wow, pretty!", he said after walking around to watch her. There was white cream and a pattern of different colored dots and marks that looked almost like a mosaic. "Aaand, done!", she grinned triumphant after putting down the nozzle. "Looks like art", he said. "And there are some brownies in the oven too, in case it's not enough", she told him proudly. "Do you wanna get ready and I take the brownies out when they're done? Your parents will be here soon", Travis suggested after looking at his watch. She looked at him hesitantly. "Tay, I can take something out of the oven when a timer goes off", he assured her acting insulted. "But if..", she started but he weaved her off. "Just go", he laughed and so Taylor went upstairs getting out the clothes she wanted to wear.

A lightly cropped, tight shirt with a flower pattern and a flowy skirt. Taylor then decided to make a little braid and let the rest of her hair open but not without having a hair tie nearby, just in case. Her makeup also fit the outfit and then she picked out some accessories. The golden T 'n' T bracelet, a golden necklace Travis had sent her when she had been on tour, and a few of her favorite golden rings as well as some earrings. Happy with her outfit, Taylor went back downstairs where Travis had successfully gotten the brownies out of the oven. "I'm ready", Taylor announced excited to have her family around today. Travis turned to look at her. "Oh, I guess I'll dress up a little bit then", he noticed her attire not looking away too soon. She blushed well aware of his eyes still on her. "D'you wanna make me lose my mind, baby?", he asked walking up to her and pulling her against himself both hands on her ass. "Then, I'd go in red and gold", she winked knowing that his team's colors usually got him good. He chuckled too but softly pushed her against the wall kissing her plumb lips. She tasted like cherry lipgloss. Taylor smiled against his lips but had to control herself when his kisses went down her jaw, neck, and then chest until he met the edge of her shirt and therefore the soft skin of her upper breast. "Trav", she mumbled. "Yes, my dear", he smiled sweetly. "My parents are about to arrive and when they see you with your head between my boobs, they probably won't want to stay for dinner", she noted. He sighed but let go of her to instead get changed too.

Taylor shook his head smiling about him and the blush not willing to leave her cheeks. A quick check in the mirror later, as if on point, the doorbell rang. Scott and Andrea had arrived. Taylor greeted them both with a big hug and when jackets, shoes, and bags were taken off, Travis came jogging down the stairs to say hello as well. "Should I get the bags to your rooms already?", he suggested. There were enough bedrooms for both of their parents because even though they didn't share a bed anymore, they were still fine with sharing a room for the night. "That would be great, Travis. Thank you", Andrea agreed, so Travis took care of the bags while Taylor brought her parents to the table. "Donna and Ed will be here around two, so I thought we'll wait with the cake", Taylor explained. "Of course! We just had lunch on the plane", her mom said and Scott agreed. "Does anyone want some coffee already? Or tea or anything?", Travis came back now too. Taylor just looked at him a certain way and he knew she was asking for her favorite tea. "I'd take some tea", Andrea said. "Water is fine for now", Scott added, so Travis went to make drinks.

Two hours later, Austin and his girlfriend had arrived, and the doorbell rang again because Donna and Ed were there now too. After another big hello, they all finally sat down and Taylor brought her cake out. It was a fun afternoon and sometimes Taylor and Travis just sat there smiling about how well their families fit together. When Kumar arrived to prepare dinner, Andrea and Donna quickly made sure that he had help even though he didn't need nor want any. He was also invited to stay for dinner and because his own family didn't manage to get together this year, he agreed. Ed and Scott ended up talking with Austin and his girlfriend about their new house and offering to help with any renovations. Travis also joined the conversation when Taylor decided to help in the kitchen.

"I gotta go to the bathroom real quick", Taylor later excused herself from the dinner preparations. Just when she was about to leave the bathroom again and get back, Travis met her in the doorway almost running into the opening door before he took the chance, nudged her back inside, and closed the door behind his back. "Did I tell you, that you look absolutely gorgeous?", he smiled and kissed her against the closest wall. Taylor giggled into his kiss but pushed him away gently when his lips and hands started to wander again. "We literally have the whole house full of family", she told him. "Then cover up, damn it", he let out failing to make it sound like the joke it was supposed to be. Taylor just looked at him. For a brief second, she considered standing up for herself but after remembering once more that there were people around, she just left the bathroom as if a switch had been flipped and jogged upstairs to get a shirt or something. Travis groaned annoyed by his own inability to make a joke sound like a joke and quickly went to follow her.

"Tay, stop", he entered the bedroom where she was about to put on some other shirt. She froze and looked up. "I didn't mean that. It was meant to be a joke. I'm sorry", he explained but she still didn't move. "It was really not what it sounded like", he added. "What did it sound like to you?", she asked. "It sounded like a sexist comment", he said honestly. "But it was meant to sound like a joke. You just... look amazing and I missed you and I just want to be near you all the time. But I shouldn't have said it that way. Sorry, Tay", he repeated and slowly went to hug her. She let him and sighed. "I was gonna start an argument about that later", Taylor told him. "You'd have every right to do so. But I promise, I didn't mean to sound like that. Now, please wear whatever you want and come back downstairs?", he suggested. "Whatever I want, huh?", she smirked. "Well, anything that's appropriate around our parents", he smirked back at her and kissed her before taking her hand and leading her downstairs again.

I'm not American, so please don't judge my mid description of an actual Thanksgiving 😅
