The next day, Travis' alarm went off early. He had practice until the early afternoon. "Mhh...", Taylor let out pulling the blanket up higher. "Sleep. I'll be home around two", he mumbled against her head and kissed her before getting up and gently tucking her back in. He didn't want to go. It was way too cozy just cuddled up with her in bed especially after she had been away for a few weeks. Taylor was tired enough to just go back to sleep though, so he didn't want to startle her anymore and silently got ready for practice. He also prepared everything in the kitchen so that Taylor only had to press a button for coffee and put on the stove for food. Then he left the house.

Taylor slept in a few more hours and finally got up around noon when she really had to eat. She smiled about how Travis had prepared everything for her, so she could just get her breakfast and sit down on the couch with it. Some show was playing while she ate but she didn't pay much attention to it. After pushing the plate away, she texted some friends and family. Her parents and her brother with his girlfriend would come around for Thanksgiving the next day. Travis' parents would also be there. Kaylie and Jason didn't have time. There were some things left to organize though and Taylor managed to get most of it done while lying on the couch and almost dozing off a few times. She was wide awake when the front door opened and Travis' bag was audibly dropped to the floor. She quickly got up to greet him with a big hug. "Travyyy", she cooed while throwing her arms around him and holding on tightly. "Hey baby", he chuckled and hugged her back. "How was your day?", he asked still not letting go. "I kinda just got up like two hours ago", she admitted mumbling into his chest. "Sounds great", he just said. "Would you maybe let go for just a minute? I'll get into something cozy and then I'm all yours", he suggested. She let out some whines protesting but ultimately let him change.

"Tomorrow is Thanksgiving", he noted when he came back and found her in the kitchen filling a glass with water. "Yeah. I texted Mom and Austin earlier. They'll be here around noon tomorrow. What about your parents?", she asked before taking a sip of her water. "I think they wanted to arrive around two", he let her know while pulling her back into another hug. "Do we need to prepare anything?", Travis asked. "Cause I'd rather just cuddle you for the rest of the day", he added. Taylor closed her eyes smiling and leaning on his chest. "You said Kumar was gonna prepare dinner. So... Maybe cake for the afternoon", she told him. "But I can do that tomorrow before they arrive", she added putting her glass down to be able to snuggle into him more. "Tomorrow sounds good", he agreed and gently nudged her in the direction of the living room where they cuddled up on the couch again. "Wait! I wanted to show you a song", Taylor suddenly remembered. "You did", he just said knowing that he couldn't stop her now anyway. "Stay here", she told him and quickly walked over to the piano. He watched her sit down and open the lid. The soft smile on his lips only grew bigger when she started playing around with some keys. "So... I wrote that one like two days ago or something", she told him. "About missing someone", she added softly before starting the intro.

Travis was pretty sure that this someone was himself. Because he had missed her too. And because they had talked about it on the phone that day. Of course, he was right, and the first few lines were enough to prove it. Taylor's soft voice felt like a warm blanket. It sounded almost like a lullaby. But a sad one. Travis got teary-eyed pretty quickly but didn't dare to interrupt her. Taylor concentrated on her piano and the words that already felt familiar even though they were just a few days old. She could still feel this ache that was always there when he wasn't. And when she finished the song, she looked over at him looking for his reaction. He held his hands out for her, so she quickly went over to him again where he just pulled her down to the couch and into his chest. "That's exactly what it feels like", he told her honestly. "It's almost too real", he added silently and kissed her head. "I love you", she just answered looking up at him again. "I love you too, Tay. More than anything", he gave back before she kissed him softly.
