When she returned home, six or seven workers were busy welding. As Lin Ran was a high-paying customer, the foreman had stayed to oversee, providing excellent service.
Seeing the foreman there, Lin Ran immediately spoke up, "I forgot to mention earlier. I want to install several sets of solar panels on the balcony. The more, the better. Also, the electrical wiring in the house needs to be modified. It should be able to use both city power and solar panel electricity. Additionally, the bathroom in my room needs to be refitted with a large water storage tank that can use city water and recycled water after the city supply runs dry."
The foreman, with a pleasant expression, struggled to find the right words. After a moment, he said, "Well, Miss Lin, the thing is, we can certainly do all that. But could we have a few more days to complete it? We're quite stretched right now, and we also have to avoid disturbing people during their rest time."
"No, it has to be completed within two days. I can pay extra, but I can't extend the time." Lin Ran said seriously.
The foreman was so speechless under Lin Ran's pressure that he couldn't say a word. "Alright, let me consult with the company to see how much additional deposit they'll need from you."
Lin Ran nodded. "Okay, please get back to me as soon as possible. Time is running out."
"Okay." The foreman wiped the sweat off his brow and communicated with the company. The call lasted about twenty minutes before he hung up.
Taking a deep breath, the foreman approached Lin Ran. "Miss Lin, here's the situation. If we rush it, we should be able to finish on time. Among the six sides of your room, only the balcony side is left for welding. The other five sides are already done. However, we'll need to bring in more workers. The cost for the two additional requests you made totals 300,000. Since you're in a rush, there's an additional rush fee of 100,000. But don't worry, once everything is installed, we'll put everything back in place for you to move in right away."
The foreman nervously smiled as he tried to persuade Lin Ran, afraid she wouldn't agree to pay an extra 100,000.
Lin Ran nodded. "Okay, should I pay a deposit first or settle the entire amount?"
"You'll need to pay for the installation of the solar panels and the recirculating water system now because we're placing orders directly with local manufacturers. As for the blast-proof wall installation, you can transfer the amount to our company's account within a week after completion. This is a special VIP treatment just for you," the foreman said with a forced smile.
Lin Ran nodded again. "Okay, it's 400,000, right? Who should I transfer the money to?"
"This is our company's bank account. You can transfer the amount directly to this account. Once your payment is received, we'll place the order immediately. We can deliver the items today, and installation can start at 7:30 am tomorrow."
Lin Ran nodded and promptly transferred the money via her phone. The foreman was somewhat surprised by how quickly Lin Ran handled it, but they appreciated straightforward clients like her, which saved them from talking too much.
Lin Ran stayed at home for a while but found it hard to sit still with the loud welding noises. She decided to bring a chair out to the corridor and passed the time browsing on her phone. She had to wait for two batches of deliveries, so she wouldn't return to the hotel just yet.
After browsing for a while, finding no news online about the impending apocalypse—just gossip and celebrity news—Lin Ran received a call. It was from the delivery driver bringing her compound crossbows.
