Chapter 15

Mo Shuyu took a step back, retreating behind Zhang Wen. Zhang Wen was at least her colleague in the emergency department, and at this moment, apart from protecting herself, Mo Shuyu could only trust Zhang Wen.

Zhang Wen stood in front of Mo Shuyu, cursing under his breath, "At a time like this, you still have the mood to think about these things? If we don't figure something out soon, the zombies won't have to kill us; we'll starve to death here."

"That's right, Dr. Zhang. That's why I suggested having some fun before we die. Don’t think I don't know; it's spread all over your department that you like Dr. Mo. What's the point of just being a simp? I'll go first, and you can have your turn after me. Enjoy your goddess properly," Xu Xiongwei said, having lost his sanity as he saw the entire hospital surrounded by monsters.

Initially, Zhang Wen was indignant upon hearing this, but after thinking it over, he found Xu Xiongwei's words reasonable. He didn't even qualify as a simp for Mo Shuyu. With his average looks, he never had the courage to confess his feelings to Mo Shuyu; it was just a one-sided crush. Now, with the world in chaos, no one would hold him accountable for anything he did with Xu Xiongwei, especially with monsters outside.

With this thought, Zhang Wen's mindset changed immediately. He turned to look at Mo Shuyu, who had already retreated four or five steps, pressing herself tightly against the wall. She'd rather be eaten by monsters than be humiliated.

Mo Shuyu tried to persuade, "Zhang Wen, don’t listen to Xu Xiongwei. It's just our hospital that's like this. We don't know how it is outside. You're a good person; don't do something foolish."

"A good person? Ha, a good person card, right? Dr. Mo, I know there are at least five or six people pursuing you. Several have even picked you up from work, right? All rich second generations or bosses, right? In your eyes, I've always been just an ordinary colleague. You've never looked at me seriously." As Zhang Wen spoke, he moved towards Mo Shuyu.

Mo Shuyu shook her head, stepping back, "Calm down. Everything can be discussed."

"Discussed? Fine, let me sleep with you now. Of course, I'd protect my own omega." In the apocalypse, the ugliest sides of human nature were magnified, especially in extremely dangerous situations. The once quiet Zhang Wen finally voiced his deepest, dirtiest thoughts.

"No, don’t come any closer." Mo Shuyu, pale-faced, backed away. She bit her lip hard, having nothing to defend herself with as she fled. The medical room was full of medicines, nothing for self-defense. If Zhang Wen got any closer, she could only run out of the medical room and feed herself to the monsters outside.

"Dr. Mo, don't hide. I also want to know what the hospital's unattainable flower tastes like." Zhang Wen took another step forward.

Xu Xiongwei and Xu Jun approached as well, their eyes scanning Mo Shuyu. As for the other omega, Zheng Huizhong, who had an unremarkable appearance, no one paid attention to her.

"Exactly, Dr. Mo. When patients need something, don't doctors have to meet their needs? Come on over. The three of us will treat you well. It's better than being fed to those monsters." Xu Xiongwei was also getting restless.

As the three men approached, Mo Shuyu kept retreating towards the door. At this moment, the door connecting the medicine room to the inner office was kicked open, and Lin Ran walked out holding a tang dao (sword).

Lin Ran had been motionless, wanting to see who was in the medicine room. Upon hearing the men's perverted comments, she decisively kicked the door open. The loud music in the building covered the noise of the door kick, but it startled the three  men in the medical room.

She didn't initially plan to intervene, knowing her time was limited. But wanting to exit through the office, she had to either climb out through the window again or go through the medical room to enter the hospital, so she kicked the door.

Holding the sword, Lin Ran glanced at the three men. The man in the white coat with glasses had his hair slicked back, looking scholarly. The other two in hospital gowns had a buzz cut and dyed red hair, looking like street thugs.

"You scared the hell out of me. Where did you come from?" Xu Jun, the red-haired man, asked, clutching his chest.

"Obviously from the inner office, idiot. You can't even save your own life, and your mind is full of dirty thoughts. Pathetic," Lin Ran scolded, taking a few steps inside.

"Who are you cursing at? We're all doomed anyway. Do you want to die with us?" Xu Xiongwei retorted.

Lin Ran sneered. She didn't underestimate them; she knew she could handle the three of them in under five minutes.

Her gaze shifted to the man in glasses behind whom her neighbor was standing. "Are you a doctor here?"

Seeing it was Lin Ran, Mo Shuyu instinctively ran towards her from the medicine shelves. Though Lin Ran had been pestering her before, her attitude had changed recently. More importantly, Lin Ran, though an alpha, was a female alpha, which was better than being with male alphas.

Xu Xiongwei, seeing Mo Shuyu running towards Lin Ran, cursed, "What are you waiting for? Don't let her get away! Chase her!"

With this reminder, Zhang Wen and Xu Jun moved to surround Mo Shuyu.

Lin Ran moved swiftly. When Mo Shuyu rushed from the third shelf towards her, Lin Ran accurately grabbed her and placed her behind her.

Lin Ran originally just wanted to disrupt the perverted men's plans and didn't intend to get involved further. Such incidents were common in the apocalypse; she wasn't a savior and could only look out for herself. But since Mo Shuyu was her neighbor, who hadn't complained about her extended home renovations, Lin Ran figured she owed Mo Shuyu a favor. So, she decided to repay it now.

While Lin Ran was lost in thought, the three male alphas, driven mad by their lustful thoughts, began to approach her. They stopped five steps away, cautious of the knife in her hand.

"What now? Trying to play hero? If I were you, I'd surrender. Don't think that just because you have a knife, you stand a chance against three male alphas. Hand over Dr. Mo now, and maybe after we're done, we'll let you have a turn," Xu Xiongwei sneered, his eyes on Dr. Mo Shuyu behind Lin Ran.

"Yeah, we all like her. Why fight? Let's take turns," Xu Jun chimed in.

Dr. Mo's heart sank as she listened. Lin Ran was also an alpha, no different from these men. Would she help or join them in tormenting her?

Instinctively, Dr. Mo took two steps back but heard Lin Ran scoff, "You think I'm like you, utterly shameless? Even now, your minds are filled with filth. You deserve to be zombie food."

"Z-zombies? You mean those creatures outside are zombies, like in movies?" Zhang Wen trembled.

Lin Ran responded disdainfully, "Yes. So, what's it going to be? Are you coming at me all at once or getting out of my way?"

"F**k you! Think we're scared of you?" Xu Xiongwei said, grabbing a wooden stool from a shelf and charging at Lin Ran.

With a swift motion, Lin Ran sliced through the stool and then struck Xu Xiongwei, causing a scream of pain.

"Ah! It hurts! You really used the knife," Xu Xiongwei cried, clutching his bleeding chest, unable to believe Lin Ran had actually attacked him. "Dr. Zhang, help me! I don't want to die."

Zhang Wen and Xu Jun, shocked by Lin Ran's decisiveness, stood paralyzed. They hadn't expected her to be so ruthless.

Lin Ran coldly looked at them. "You two, want me to handle you, or will you leave?"

"D-don't be impulsive. I'm not really a thug. I was just talking big. If I'd known Dr. Mo was your omega, I wouldn't have dared. I'll leave now," Xu Jun stammered, terrified.

"Stand by the window. Move quickly," Lin Ran ordered, pointing her sword.

"And you," she gestured at Zhang Wen. "Hurry up. I don't like repeating myself."
