She charged into the classroom. The students inside revealed their hideous faces, many of them bloody and some charred. Lin Ran realized these ghosts were likely victims of the fire Mo Shuyu mentioned.

Despite being surrounded by ghosts, Lin Ran killed them quickly, clearing out half the class in no time.

Some ghosts turned their attention to Mo Shuyu, but she defended herself with her frying pan, which caused the ghosts' bodies to smoke upon contact.

With the sounds of agonized screams, the ghosts of Class 14 were eliminated, and the room returned to peace. The fog outside the window lifted, revealing sunlight.

Lin Ran looked at Mo Shuyu, "Let's go to the rooftop."

"Okay," Mo Shuyu nodded.

When they reached the rooftop, they found the water tank. A drenched girl sat on it, her eyes weeping blood as she stared at Lin Ran and Mo Shuyu.

Lin Ran met her gaze, "Why hold onto these things? It's torturing yourself. Let the past go. Those people have been punished. Free yourself."

The girl whimpered, a sharp, faint sound, blood tears streaming from her eyes.

Suddenly, Lin Ran felt warmth in her hand—it was a card with the words "Pass Card" on it. The girl's form turned into a red light, merging into Lin Ran's katana.

As Lin Ran was taken aback, a mechanical voice announced, "Congratulations, player. You have cleared the level and obtained the special card: Protection of the Vengeful Ghost (already used)."

Card attributes: A special dungeon card. You are a friend chosen by the vengeful ghost who resides in your katana. You have the unique ability to communicate with the ghost and command it. (Note: You can summon the ghost for 3 minutes once a day!)

Since the card had already been used, it vanished after Lin Ran read its attributes.

"What's wrong?" Mo Shuyu asked, noticing Lin Ran's dazed expression.

"Li Xuan seems to have used this card herself. Does she want to leave with us?" Lin Ran was surprised. By rights, Li Xuan's obsession should have been resolved.

"She's not a bad person," Mo Shuyu replied. She couldn't believe the truth about the fire ten years ago: all those who burned to death deserved it.

The next moment, they were back in their dorm room. Lin Ran checked the time: 5 PM. They had spent a few hours in the dungeon, with its time flow matching the real world.

Both were tired. Mo Shuyu, recalling the card, took out the frying pan card and handed it to Lin Ran.

Lin Ran didn't take it, lying on her side and looking at Mo Shuyu, "You keep it. I have my katana. Next time, we can see if it works on zombies."

Mo Shuyu accepted it, "Okay."

She still felt uneasy about Li Xuan, and the world now having zombies didn't surprise her anymore.

Though their bodies didn't enter the dungeon, both felt exhausted. Lin Ran fell asleep quickly, and so did Mo Shuyu. When they woke up, it was dark outside.

The air conditioning was chilly, and Mo Shuyu found herself in Lin Ran's arms again. Groggy, she realized her position and tried to slip away, only to be held tighter by Lin Ran, who had just woken up.

They could see each other's faces in the moonlight. Mo Shuyu whispered, "Let go. It's time to get up."

"Okay," Lin Ran replied, letting go. Mo Shuyu quickly got up.
