After finishing her considerations, Lin Ran turned off the computer, lay on the bed, and used her phone to look at information from various places before falling asleep. The gene enhancement drug she had taken had improved her physical qualities in all aspects, but she still needed to be careful and avoid getting injured, as she couldn't heal quickly.
Before going to sleep, Lin Ran remembered Mo Shuyu's instructions, got up, found the anti-inflammatory medicine, and took two pills before covering herself with a summer quilt and falling asleep.
When she woke up, it was already broad daylight. Lin Ran checked the time; it was 8 o'clock. She got up, did a simple wash, ate two chocolate bars, and boiled a pot of hot water to make herself a cup of milk powder.
After eating a simple meal, Lin Ran took some anti-inflammatory medicine and then took a bag heading towards the room where Lin Zhongsheng used to stay. She had previously brought back quite a bit of snacks, which are high in sugar and calories—exactly what’s needed in an apocalypse since these can quickly convert into energy in the body.
Lin Ran wasn’t very familiar with kids. As a bodyguard, she had almost no interaction with children and didn't know what they liked to eat.
She squatted down and randomly picked a few colorful boxes of candy from the pile and put them into the bag. She also packed a few bags of chips and potato sticks, along with lollipops, rainbow candies, and cotton candy. She added some rice crackers, boxed cookies, bagged milk buns, and a few bowls of large fruit jellies.
Finally, on the other side of the floor, she saw some Wahaha drinks that triggered her PTSD. Without hesitation, she grabbed two rows of them and stuffed them into the bag, filling it to the brim with snacks and candies.
Her clothes from yesterday were wrinkled, so Lin Ran found a black dress from the wardrobe. Since her hands weren't very nimble, wearing a dress was more convenient.
After changing her clothes, Lin Ran carried the big bag of snacks by her wrist and left the house.
She closed her heavy-duty security door and then knocked on Mo Shuyu's door.
Because of what happened yesterday, Cheng Yanhong and the Ruan Ruan were very cautious about the knocking sound. Mo Shuyu was the same, looking seriously at the door, "Mom, watch Ruan Ruan. I'll go take a look."
Cheng Yanhong grabbed her daughter's wrist, "Xiaoyu, maybe you shouldn't go. Didn't you say our door is very sturdy? Let's not take any risks."
Mo Shuyu patted Cheng Yanhong's hand, signaling her to be at ease, "Mom, hiding is not a solution. We have to face it sooner or later."
This was something Mo Shuyu had learned yesterday when she faced life and death at the hospital. She picked up the Gurkha knife and carefully approached the peephole, where she saw Lin Ran’s face.
"Lin Ran? Why are you here? I was planning to come over and help you change your dressing later." Mo Shuyu switched the knife to her left hand and opened the door with her right hand.
Cheng Yanhong was about to stop her but saw that her daughter had already let Lin Ran in. After seeing what people in the group had said about Lin Ran, Cheng Yanhong was quite scared and took two steps back with the little one in her arms.
Lin Ran saw the Gurkha knife in Mo Shuyu’s hand and slightly raised the corner of her lips, though it was just for a moment, "Opening the door with a knife, well done."
Mo Shuyu was still scanning Lin Ran. Today, Lin Ran was wearing a dress, which she didn't usually like to wear. But Lin Ran looked good in it. Hearing Lin Ran’s praise, Mo Shuyu smiled, "Isn't it thanks to your teaching?"
