T/N: Mass update begins!

The remaining lackeys were terrified. None of them had seen how Lin Ran moved, let alone how she struck.

"When did that woman attack?" the bald man stammered.

"I didn't see it. How did Brother Zhou die? What do we do now?" another crew-cut man asked as he began to back away.

"What do we do? Run!" the bald man shouted. As he turned to flee into the village, the other ten men followed, but Lin Ran didn't intend to give them the chance. If they had been ordinary people without combat skills, they would have fallen into a trap. Such people needed to be dealt with swiftly.

As the bald man shouted, Lin Ran had already dashed forward, her movements like a blur. While a typical alpha could run at 7 meters per second, Lin Ran moved at 35 meters per second, far outpacing them.

Lin Ran's speed was matched by her blade's swiftness. In the early days of the apocalypse, she would be covered in blood after fighting zombies, but now, her speed and precision kept her clean. In just one or two minutes, all ten men who had tried to flee were dealt with, their bodies strewn across the ground. Since they were only staying overnight, Lin Ran didn't bother cleaning up the bodies; they would serve as a warning to anyone with ill intentions.

With her Tang sword in hand, Lin Ran walked back to the gate, where Mo Shuyu was waiting.

"Let's go inside," Lin Ran said, securing the gate with a long chain and blocking it with a stool. The lock had been broken, so this was the best they could do. If anyone tried to enter, it would make a noise.

Lin Ran and Mo Shuyu entered the first floor of the two-story house, where Wei Qingxue and the others were waiting in the living room.

Lin Ran shut the front door, but since the lock was broken, she placed several chairs against it, ensuring they would hear if anyone tried to break in.

Lin Ran looked at everyone and said, "Let's stay on the second floor; it'll be safer."

"Okay," Mo Shuyu replied, and they all headed upstairs. The second floor had a living room and three bedrooms. Lin Ran checked one of the rooms, noticing that the sheets had gathered dust after more than a month of disuse.

She opened the wardrobe, finding it clean and neatly organized with sheets and clothes. She also discovered 5,000 yuan in cash and some gold jewelry in a drawer, though these were now useless.

In another room, Wei Qingxue was exploring what appeared to be a young person's bedroom, complete with a computer and streaming equipment. She also found half a case of soda, along with a good amount of chicken feet and bags of chips.

Excited, Wei Qingxue brought everything out. "Lin Ran, Shuyu, look what I found!"

Lin Ran and Mo Shuyu quickly walked out to see a dozen bottles of soda and a large bag of snacks on the living room table.

"The zombies in this house must have scared off the villagers, so they didn't come to scavenge. Let's search carefully; we might find more useful things," Wei Qingxue suggested with a smile.

"Alright."

Thirsty, Lin Ran immediately opened a bottle of soda and handed it to Mo Shuyu, taking another for herself. Wei Qingxue gave one to Cheng Yanhong and the little one and then drank one herself.

Lin Ran and Mo Shuyu went to the last room on the second floor, which turned out to be a study with a single bed, making it suitable for sleeping. The study had a wall filled with bookshelves. Lin Ran casually glanced over the books and found an atlas of Country A.
