Brother Hu was resting with his eyes closed on the recliner when the commotion outside woke him up.

"Brother Hu, Brother Hu, something terrible has happened. Zhou Dayong and all his men are dead!" Yellow Hair and his two lackeys burst into the house, panicked.

Brother Hu's expression turned vicious as he sat up. "Nonsense! There were eleven of them. Are you telling me they're all dead?"

"Yes, Brother Hu, it's true. Our men are lying dead at the village entrance," Yellow Hair stammered, drenched in cold sweat.

Veins bulged on Brother Hu's forehead. "Who the hell did this? Did you get a good look?"

"No, Brother Hu. We just saw a new car parked outside the courtyard of that two-story building near the village entrance. The people must be staying there," Yellow Hair quickly added.

"Heh, if I don't kill those bastards, I'll lose face in front of the boys," Brother Hu snarled as the ten or so men playing mahjong fell silent.

"Brother Hu, when should we go?"

"No rush. It looks like the people at the village entrance have some skills. We'll wait until dark to make our move," Brother Hu said through gritted teeth.

On the other side, Lin Ran and her group had a satisfying afternoon meal. After finishing the dishes, Lin Ran even ate an extra bowl of rice with green onions dipped in sauce. Fresh vegetables truly were the most delicious thing.

After the meal, they used the bottled water they found downstairs to wash the dishes.

Lin Ran thought for a moment and said, "Since we're staying here, we need to set up a night watch. Auntie is older and needs to take care of Ruan Ruan, so she won't be on duty. Qingxue, Xiaoyu, and I will take turns. The first shift will be from 8 PM to 11 PM, the second from 11 PM to 2 AM, and the third from 2 AM to 5 AM. Does that work?"

"Alright, then Xiaoyu will take the first shift, I'll take the middle one, and Qingxue will take the last one," Lin Ran decided. Since Mo Shuyu was an omega, the first shift would allow her to rest better.

"Okay, I'll get some sleep now so I'm ready for my shift tonight," Wei Qingxue said as she tidied up and went to her room.

Cheng Yanhong also took Softie to their room. She pulled out a clean bedsheet from the closet, laid it on the bed, and used the summer quilt Lin Ran had given her. The little one, exhausted from the day, fell asleep quickly.

Seeing everyone head to their rooms, Lin Ran reached out and pulled Mo Shuyu into her arms, planting a kiss on her lips.

Mo Shuyu wrapped her arms around Lin Ran's neck, deepening the kiss. Softly, she nestled into Lin Ran's embrace and said, "You should sleep too. It's almost 8 PM, and you'll need to relieve me later."

"Alright." Lin Ran agreed, but she didn't want to move. Most of their time was spent on the road now, and she barely had time to be alone with her girlfriend.

Lin Ran tightened her hold on Mo Shuyu. "I've missed you."

Mo Shuyu chuckled and playfully pinched Lin Ran's ear. "Missed me, or are you just thinking of doing something naughty?"

Lin Ran kissed Mo Shuyu's lips again. "Both."

"Alright, stop clinging to me and go to sleep. We still have a long way to travel tomorrow," Mo Shuyu said as she kissed Lin Ran on the cheek and then gently pushed her big dog back into the room.

Lin Ran found a clean bedsheet from the closet and made the bed. For the blanket, she used the summer quilt from her storage space. After riding a motorcycle all day, she was truly exhausted and fell asleep almost immediately after lying down, without needing to wind down.
