As expected, before midnight, Mo Shuyu was back in Lin Ran's arms. Half-asleep, Lin Ran held her tighter.

The next morning, Lin Ran woke up early to find Mo Shuyu nestled in her arms, breathing steadily, her eyelashes fluttering gently with each breath like tiny brushes.

Lin Ran's gaze moved from Mo Shuyu's eyelashes to her lips. She leaned in and softly kissed the corner of her girlfriend's lips, pulling back quickly.

Feeling like she had tasted candy, Lin Ran's heart was filled with sweetness. Seeing that Mo Shuyu was still asleep, she leaned in again and kissed her cheek. Her girlfriend was so soft and fragrant, too tempting not to kiss.

Mo Shuyu eventually woke up from Lin Ran's movements. She rubbed her face against Lin Ran's chest, pinching her cheek, "Who told you to kiss me secretly?"

"It wasn't secretly, it was openly. You're my girlfriend," Lin Ran said, holding Mo Shuyu tighter, reluctant to get up.

"Still not allowed," Mo Shuyu said, cupping Lin Ran's face and rubbing it before sitting up from Lin Ran's embrace.

"Get up, don't we need to go to the police station?" Mo Shuyu reminded, focused on their task rather than teasing Lin Ran.

"Okay." Lin Ran stretched and got up as well.

After washing up, they went out to have breakfast with everyone. The meal was noodle soup made by Cheng Yanhong, tailored to the little one's taste for soupy dishes.

After a few sips, Lin Ran said, "Auntie, Xiao Yu and I need to head out for a bit. You and Qingshui stay home and watch over things."

"Heading out again? Be very careful," Cheng Yanhong urged, despite Lin Ran's frequent outings.

"Don't worry, we'll be back as soon as we can."

After breakfast, Lin Ran went to 1003 to grab some clothes. Both she and Mo Shuyu changed and then left the house.

As they were leaving, they ran into Wang Wuyang and Ye Li, who seemed to be looking for Lin Ran.

"What's up?" Lin Ran asked.

"Sister Lin, we're really sorry to bother you, but we're desperate. We're out of water and there's no electricity. We barely have any food left. It's becoming unbearable," Wang Wuyang explained. Since the internet had been down, Lin Ran had almost forgotten there were other residents in the building.

Lin Ran nodded, thinking for a moment before speaking, "The military has set up a refuge at the Third High School, just a couple of streets away. If you're willing, pack your things and inform the other survivors in the building. If we return early this afternoon, I'll help get you there."

"Thank you so much, Sister Lin," Wang Wuyang said gratefully. Their home had been without water and power for a long time, and they hadn't bathed in ages. The heat made them look exhausted and worn out.

"Don't mention it. Go on now," Lin Ran said, and she and Mo Shuyu continued downstairs. With their home having water and electricity, it was tough for the average person to manage without.

"Will we be driving them over this afternoon?" Mo Shuyu asked.

Lin Ran nodded, "Yeah, we should be able to get everyone there in two trips."

Lin Ran wasn't a savior, but she was willing to help those she knew. As for the other residents in the complex, she wasn't planning to get involved, and she suspected there weren't many survivors left in the other buildings.

Lost in thought, they exited the building. Lin Ran's flashy purple motorcycle reappeared. She mounted it and helped Mo Shuyu on as well.

"By the way, I'm not familiar with the route to the police station. You'll need to guide me," Lin Ran admitted.
