"Your name is Wei Qingsue? Did you confess to Li Xuan and get rejected?" Lin Ran continued to ask.

"How do you know? Did she mention me? What else do you know?" Wei Qingsue tried to control herself but couldn't help but tear up. No one had mentioned Li Xuan in years, and Wei Qingsue thought she had moved on. But every time someone brought up Li Xuan, she couldn't help but remember the girl and her every smile and frown.

"I'm sorry, I know I'm a bit emotional and might have scared you," Wei Qingsue said, trying to control herself, but tears still flowed uncontrollably from her eyes.

Lin Ran took out a tissue from her pocket and handed it to her, "It's okay. You should wipe your tears first."

"Thank you," Wei Qingsue said politely, but her eyes remained fixed on Lin Ran, hoping Lin Ran would say something.

Lin Ran glanced at Mo Shuyu, pondering how to start. The things she and Mo Shuyu had experienced were too bizarre, and there were too many people around to explain it properly.

"I do know some things about Li Xuan, but some of it is too complicated to explain now. Li Xuan was murdered, but the person responsible has already been punished. As for the details, I'm sorry, but I can't tell you right now," Lin Ran explained.

Lin Ran thought about it. Li Xuan's body was gone, but her ghost was residing in her Tang Dao. Technically, Li Xuan was still able to think and had her own independent will. This matter concerned Li Xuan, so Lin Ran felt she couldn't decide whether to reveal it without asking Li Xuan first.

"Why can't you tell me? You're Li Xuan's cousin, right? Don't laugh at me, but I've been waiting here for ten years. I majored in a teaching profession I didn't like in college just to return to this school. I want to know what really happened back then. I even feel that, even though this place has been rebuilt, as long as I stay here, I can be closer to her," Wei Qingsue said, unable to hold back her tears.

"I'm sorry, Miss Wei. It's not that I don't want to tell you, but the situation is very complicated, and I can't explain it now," Lin Ran said, feeling the need to ask Li Xuan first. She had no right to make decisions for others.

"It's okay, I understand. After all, you're her family. I'm sorry for the trouble. By the way, may I know how to address you?" Wei Qingsue asked, seeing a glimmer of hope even in this coincidence. She wanted to know the truth.

"I'm Lin Ran, and this is Mo Shuyu," Lin Ran introduced herself and Mo Shuyu.

"Miss Lin, I know I'm being presumptuous, but I really want to know the truth. Can you tell me? I'll do anything you ask in return," Wei Qingsue said. After being in the dark for so long, even a tiny bit of light was something she wanted to grasp tightly.

Wei Qingsue's family was gone. If she hadn't hidden with the students on the first floor during the incident, she would have died too. With the chaos outside, she didn't have much hope for survival. Her only reason for living was to find out the truth about Li Xuan's death ten years ago.

"Miss Wei, there are too many people here. Can we talk outside?" Lin Ran said, weighing the pros and cons. Wei Qingsue seemed nice and polite, and she had a connection with Li Xuan, who was important to Lin Ran. Lin Ran thought Wei Qingsue could be a valuable ally.

After all, things would get more chaotic, and they needed help for their trip to Jiangnan City.

"Okay, there's a rooftop on the second floor. We can sit there," Wei Qingsue quickly suggested, eager to comply.

"Alright, let's talk there," Lin Ran said, stepping out of the Class 14 classroom. She stopped and said, "I need to use the restroom first. Can you two wait for me here? I'll be right back."
