In the original story, Lin Ran was killed by Mo Shuyu. After transmigrating, Lin Ran had planned to avoid the protagonist and her suitors, focusing solely on stockpiling supplies to survive. Who could have thought all her efforts were in vain, and that the person beside her was actually the protagonist?

This realization was hard for Lin Ran to accept, especially since the original Mo Shuyu was very scheming, and it was her machinations that led to Lin Ran's death.

"What's wrong with you? Are you feeling unwell?" Mo Shuyu took a few steps towards Lin Ran, concerned about her dazed state.

Lin Ran dodged Mo Shuyu's outstretched hand and said blandly, "I'm fine, just felt a bit dizzy suddenly. It's better now."

Mo Shuyu glanced at her hand. Did Lin Ran just avoid her? What's going on? Was it because of Jiang Wenbo?

But Lin Ran wasn't the type to get jealous over something so trivial. Mo Shuyu couldn't think of any other reason.

"Hey, Lin Ran, what's this? Pretending to be unwell out of fear? I brought seven bodyguards, all former foreign mercenaries. Do you understand what that means? They're exceptionally skilled. Don't think that injuring one of my men makes you special," Jiang Wenbo taunted, unable to bear seeing Mo Shuyu care for Lin Ran.

Lin Ran's gaze turned icy as she looked at Jiang Wenbo. Whatever issues with Mo Shuyu could wait; the immediate problem was the people in front of her.

Gripping her sword, Lin Ran took a few steps forward, staring coldly at Jiang Wenbo. "Mo Shuyu is an independent person. She decides her own fate. If she wants to go with you, I won't stop her. But if you try to take her by force, you'll have to deal with my blade first."

Mo Shuyu, relieved to see Lin Ran return to normal, felt puzzled by her words. Let her decide her own fate? Of course, she'd stay with Lin Ran. Why even say that?

"Hah, you heard that, Shuyu. Lin Ran's chickened out and is letting you choose. Come on over; she can't protect you," Jiang Wenbo sneered.

Mo Shuyu looked at Lin Ran. They had developed a mutual understanding through their numerous outings, often communicating through glances alone. But this time, Lin Ran avoided her gaze. Was she hiding something?

Feeling uncomfortable but suppressing her dissatisfaction due to the presence of outsiders, Mo Shuyu said, "I'm with Lin Ran. You should leave with your men."

"What? Shuyu, are you crazy? You're staying with her? What can she offer you? Can she protect you alone?" Jiang Wenbo felt humiliated being rejected so outright by Mo Shuyu in front of his men.

"I said I'm staying with Lin Ran. Can't you understand plain words?" Mo Shuyu snapped, her frustration showing.

"Mo Shuyu, I respected you by letting you choose. But if you pick Lin Ran, then you must be brainwashed. Leopard, bring her over. I'll make her see reason," Jiang Wenbo ordered his bodyguards coldly.

Leopard and two other men in shirts rushed towards Mo Shuyu. Lin Ran stepped in front of her without hesitation, kicking Leopard away. He flew back, almost hitting Jiang Wenbo.

Without losing momentum, Lin Ran punched another bodyguard, sending him to the ground, blood and teeth flying from his mouth. As the third bodyguard approached, Lin Ran slapped him hard, deforming his face and causing blood to ooze from his mouth and ears. He collapsed, clutching his ear, shouting, "I can't hear from my ear!"

Lin Ran's face was grim. She looked at Jiang Wenbo. "Once, twice—there won't be a third time. If your men attack me again, I'll use my blade. It's hard enough to survive the apocalypse; I don't want to harm ordinary people. But if you force me, I won't have a choice."
