Lin Lei, seeing that his parents hadn't returned, shouted at Lin Zhongsheng, "Where are my dad and mom? Where are they?"
Lin Zhongsheng, full of anger, cursed, "Stop howling. Your dad and mom were killed by Lin Ran, all because they were looking for a doctor for you. I almost got killed by Lin Ran too."
"What? My dad and mom are dead? That's impossible, it can't be true!" Lin Lei tried to get up to find his parents, but the pain in his injured leg made him collapse back onto the sofa.
Lin Zhongsheng looked at Lin Lei with slight disdain. With 120 unreachable and no one willing to help Lin Lei, his leg was likely beyond saving. More than just his leg, his life might be in danger too.
"You should save your strength. This way, you might live a few more days," Lin Zhongsheng said, sitting on a chair, still panting heavily.
"No, I need to find my parents, I need to find them." Lin Lei shouted until his voice almost gave out, making Lin Zhongsheng even more irritable.
"Damn it! Didn't I tell you? Your parents are dead, dead! Do you understand? You don't need to look for them. The way you are, you'll join them in a few days anyway." Lin Zhongsheng shouted in frustration.
Lin Lei, in disbelief, cried out, "Uncle, how can you say that? If it wasn't for us going down to get you, we wouldn't have angered Lin Ran. It's all your fault."
Lin Zhongsheng stood up with a start, the chair scraping loudly across the floor. He pointed angrily at Lin Lei, "All my fault? Did I hold a knife to your throats to make you come down for me? Your family always wanted to take advantage of others. Your parents died for you. If it weren't for your useless leg, we wouldn't have gone down to find that Doctor Mo, understand?"
Seeing Lin Zhongsheng also getting angry, Lin Lei started crying harder. It seemed his uncle wouldn't look for a doctor for him anymore.
Remembering his phone, Lin Lei muttered, "Right, my phone, where's my phone?"
Like grasping at a lifeline, he lunged for the phone on the sofa, grimacing in pain. "It hurts, it hurts so much."
Annoyed by his cries, Lin Zhongsheng kicked open Lin Zhongyu and Jiang Xiaoyun's bedroom door and shut it behind him. Out of sight, out of mind. At this point, who cared if someone had died in this room? He just needed a place to rest.
In the living room, Lin Lei quickly opened WeChat and found the Guanghua Community Building 9 Owners Group, frantically typing in the chat box.
Lin Lei 1702: @Lin Ran! @Lin Ran! @Lin Ran! You murderer, give me back my parents!
Lin Lei 1702: @All, everyone, beware! Lin Ran from 1004 is a murderer. She just killed my parents. This monster deserves to die! Everyone, be careful of this murderer.
Lin Lei 1702: @Doctor Mo, and her too, Doctor Mo from 1003. She refused to save my life as a doctor. If she had helped me, my parents wouldn't have died. There are two lunatics on the 10th floor. Be very careful!
Hu Dage 2004: Damn it, I took a nap and came back to 99+ messages. You guys really have nothing better to do, talking about murderers. I have to see who dares call themselves a murderer.
Hu Xuecheng from 2004 was a local gang leader with some connections, having a dozen subordinates who specialized in debt collection for online loan companies. The residents knew who he was and usually avoided provoking him.
Lin Lei didn't care about this and immediately tagged Hu Xuecheng.
Lin Lei 1702: @Hu Dage, it's Lin Ran from 1004. She's a murderer. If you have the guts, go find Lin Ran.
