Lin Ran and Mo Shuyu each changed clothes and had some bread and snacks. When the time was right, they went downstairs. Although the corridor had been cleaned, it still reeked of a foul stench, especially with the bloodstains on the walls making it look ghastly.

Lin Ran and Mo Shuyu quickly reached the first floor, where Wang Wuyang and Ye Li were already waiting.

Seeing them, Wang Wuyang greeted them warmly, "Sister Lin, you came down early!"

Lin Ran nodded at him, "Yes, I want to check how many zombies are outside."

She walked to the building's entrance and looked outside through the window, seeing only a few wandering zombies, which wasn't a big problem.

While Lin Ran was observing outside, Wu Qi and his wife, along with Xu Xiaoying, also came down. Including Lin Ran and Mo Shuyu, there were five people in total, which was more than enough.

Lin Ran instructed, "I'll clear the zombies at the entrance first. When you see the coast is clear, run to the opposite building and wait for me in the first-floor corridor."

"Got it, Sister Lin," Wang Wuyang responded promptly.

Lin Ran glanced at Mo Shuyu before stepping out of the building. She quickly dashed towards two zombies, slashing the neck of one with her Tang sword, causing it to fall immediately.

Her blade didn't slow down. As she charged at the second zombie, she moved even faster, severing its spine in no time. She swiftly dispatched the remaining zombies with ease.

Seeing that the way was clear, Mo Shuyu urged, "Let's go, run to the other side now."

Mo Shuyu led the way, followed closely by Wang Wuyang and the others. A zombie from the side noticed them and lunged at Ye Li.

Lin Ran, having finished with the other zombies, kicked this one over and swiftly ended it with her blade.

Ye Li, taking advantage of the opportunity, hurried into the building. Once inside, she was still a bit shaken, "Thank goodness for Sister Lin, or I would have been caught by that zombie."

"Don't worry, with Sister Lin here, we're safe," Wang Wuyang comforted her.

While they talked, Lin Ran entered the corridor, "Let's go. We don't know Ma Yide's hideout location, and we're also unsure about the renovation site, so we might have to search floor by floor."

"No problem, Sister Lin. We'll take care of it. You and Dr. Mo just follow us," Wang Wuyang said and began searching the first floor.

Wu Qi and his wife, along with Xu Xiaoying, also started searching earnestly. After a couple of minutes, Xu Xiaoying came out, "Sister Lin, the security doors here seem to have been pried open by Ma Yide's people. The doors on the first floor are all open."

Lin Ran nodded, "That makes things easier. The open doors definitely aren't Ma Yide's hideout. We can also check which place was being renovated. Let's move on to the next floor."

With Wang Wuyang and the other four handling the search, Lin Ran and Mo Shuyu didn't need to join in. The five of them took on the job until Ye Li excitedly called out from the fifth floor.

"Lin Ran, Dr. Mo, we found it! Apartment 502 is being renovated. Come take a look."

Lin Ran and Mo Shuyu entered 502 and saw that the flooring had just been laid. The living room was filled with cement, sand, putty powder, and latex paint, all piled on the floor.

"Alright, let's take some of this back. Some of you, start moving this stuff to the first floor. The rest, continue looking for Ma Yide's hideout," Lin Ran instructed.
