"Yes, find a doctor. We need to find the doctor. Let's go find her now," Lin Zhongyu muttered.
"Let's go, now!" Jiang Xiaoyun grabbed the keys to open the door.
"Wait, what if that doctor doesn't want to help?" Lin Zhongyu looked at Jiang Xiaoyun, then rushed to the kitchen to grab a kitchen knife.
"What are you doing?" Jiang Xiaoyun was startled seeing the knife.
"What am I doing? The outside is full of monsters. Lin Ran hurt our son, and no one cares. If that doctor won't help, I'll put this knife to her throat and make her come," Lin Zhongyu's eyes were filled with madness, scaring even Lin Zhongsheng, who took two steps back.
Jiang Xiaoyun hesitated for a moment but then nodded frantically, "Yes, the outside is chaotic. No one will care what we do. Let's save Xiao Lei first."
"Mom, it hurts so much," Lin Lei's constant wailing made Jiang Xiaoyun weep.
"Xiao Lei, don't worry. Your father and I will bring the doctor here," Jiang Xiaoyun gritted her teeth.
Lin Zhongyu glanced at Lin Zhongsheng and said coldly, "Let's go."
"What? I have to go too?" Lin Zhongsheng, seeing Lin Zhongyu holding the knife, didn't want to go at all.
"Of course, Xiao Lei's condition is partly your responsibility. Besides, you're neighbors; she'll recognize you and be less wary. You go knock; she won't be suspicious," Lin Zhongyu said coldly.
Seeing Lin Zhongsheng hesitate, Lin Zhongyu sneered, "Brother, you aren't going to refuse such a simple task, are you?"
"I'll go. I'll go with you," Lin Zhongsheng agreed reluctantly, knowing he had no choice with the knife involved.
The three of them quickly descended from the 17th floor to the 10th. Lin Zhongyu, holding the kitchen knife, opened the door leading to units 03 and 04.
At this moment, Lin Ran, who had just returned from the bedroom balcony, noticed the movement on her surveillance. She saw Lin Zhongsheng and the others sneaking to her door, with Lin Zhongyu holding a knife.
She chuckled and shook her head, ready to play along. But then she saw Lin Zhongsheng knocking on Mo Shuyu's door.
Alarmed, Lin Ran quickly stood up but remembered she had told Mo Shuyu not to open the door for anyone. She wasn't too worried.
Lin Ran opened her door, and with a thought, summoned her blade. Holding the sword, she headed to her living room's security door.
Meanwhile, Mo Shuyu heard the knock and thought Lin Ran needed something, so she rushed to the door. Looking through the peephole, she saw it wasn't Lin Ran but her father.
Frowning, she recalled Lin Ran's father's words in the community chat. He didn't seem like a good person, having talked badly about his daughter and told everyone about the supplies in her home. He surely had ill intentions.
Mo Shuyu didn't open the door. Instead, she stood behind the security door and asked, "Uncle Lin, what brings you here?"
"Doctor Mo, did you see the message I posted in the group earlier? My nephew's leg is injured and he needs a doctor. We can't reach 120 at all. Can you help us? We're desperate," Lin Zhongsheng said hurriedly.
"Yes, Doctor Mo, please save my son. We only have this one child," Jiang Xiaoyun said excitedly, trying to pull open Mo Shuyu's security door.
Mo Shuyu already doubted Lin Zhongsheng's character. Having interacted with Lin Ran, she knew what kind of person Lin Ran was. Moreover, this woman was very agitated. Even in orderly times, hospitals had issues with violent incidents against medical staff. Mo Shuyu feared that going out to help might cost her life despite her good intentions.
