Lin Ran realized that she couldn't leave all the supplies outside. With this in mind, she began to move things inside, starting with the weapons. The remaining three compound crossbows and two hundred crossbow bolts had to be placed in her room, along with the remaining three kukri knives and the entrenching tools. Lin Ran moved all of these into her room as well.

After moving all the weapons, Lin Ran began to carry in the bottled water.

Ignoring the sweat on her body, she moved one barrel of water after another until there was hardly any space left on her bedroom floor. Then she started moving in household items. She didn't carry too many items like shampoo and shower gel, but she did take a lot of toilet paper and sanitary pads, stacking them on top of the large bottles of water as neatly as possible, making it look organized and pleasing to her.

Once she was done with the household items, Lin Ran started moving the food supplies. The canned goods she had bought had long shelf lives and could last two to three years if not opened. Lin Ran didn't dare to imagine what the apocalypse would be like in two or three years, or if there would still be food to eat. Thinking of this, she worked even harder to move the cans. In addition to canned goods, she also moved boxes of high-calorie foods like chocolate, energy bars, and candies into her bedroom.

When Lin Zhongsheng came home, he saw Lin Ran moving things and looked at her with displeasure. "What are you doing?"

"Moving some things into my room and some into the study, so your room can have more space," Lin Ran replied flatly.

"At least you have some conscience," Lin Zhongsheng snorted and ignored her, heading to the kitchen to make himself something to eat.

Lin Ran couldn't be bothered with him either. Although she had transmigrated into a book, she was now occupying the identity of the original Lin Ran. She felt a tiny bit of guilt towards Lin Zhongsheng for taking his daughter's place, but just a tiny bit. Not kicking him out was the greatest kindness she could offer him.

As long as he stayed home, Lin Zhongsheng could certainly live a year or so longer than others.

It was June, the hottest time of the year. Despite working with the air conditioner on, Lin Ran was sweating profusely. She went to the bathroom to find a hair tie and pulled her slightly curly long hair into a high ponytail to stay cooler and work more efficiently.

Lin Ran mechanically continued moving items. Eventually, there was some open space in Lin Zhongsheng's room. Once she had moved most of the supplies into her room, she started moving the supplies from Lin Zhongsheng's room into the study. The study had been filled with bottled water, but now there was some space.

By the time Lin Ran finished, it was already past nine in the evening. Her arms were so tired that she could barely lift them, but she still insisted on taking a shower and ordering some takeout.

At 10 o'clock, Lin Ran finally sat down for dinner. She ordered quite a bit of food but avoided anything spicy because of her wisdom teeth. She sat in the living room, eating while watching the evening news.

The news in Jiangbei City continued to report trivial matters, with no hint of the impending apocalypse coming tomorrow.

Lin Zhongsheng came out of his room to get some water from the kitchen and was irritated when he saw that Lin Ran had ordered takeout. "Can't you cook for yourself? Such a waste of money. And what's with the front door? I forgot to ask you earlier. Are you burning money? You even installed such a heavy security door in your room. Who are you guarding against? Me? And the front door was perfectly fine. Why did you replace it with something that looks like it belongs in a bank? It's ridiculous."
