Sure enough, after a moment, Wang Wuyang and Ye Li started working. Wang Wuyang nervously opened the fire escape door and wedged it open with a brick.

Taking a deep breath, Wang Wuyang asked, "Li Li, are you ready?"

Ye Li bit her lip and replied, "Ready, let's do this."

"Alright, let's start with the outermost body." Wang Wuyang handed Ye Li a pair of rubber gloves and put on a pair himself.

The outermost zombie body belonged to Wang Dong. Wang Wuyang dragged Wang Dong’s body out of Lin Ran’s door. Despite his trembling hands, he said, "Li Li, I’ll grab the upper body, you take the legs. It’s really heavy."

"Okay, okay," Ye Li said, lifting Wang Dong's legs in a panic. Tears still streamed down her face, but she gritted her teeth and helped carry him to the window of the fire escape.

With all her strength, Ye Li managed to get Wang Dong's legs onto the window ledge. Then, she and Wang Wuyang together heaved and threw Wang Dong out the window.

Wang Wuyang panted heavily and, after a moment, looked at Ye Li. "It wasn't as hard as I thought, was it?"

Ye Li nodded in agreement. Humans are remarkably adaptable creatures. Even though the first time doing something like this is uncomfortable, the more they do it, the less shocking it becomes, no matter how terrifying it initially seemed.

"Let's keep going," Wang Wuyang said, feeling more confident. He went to drag the second zombie corpse, and together, they lifted and moved it to the window, then threw it out from the 10th floor.

As they continued, the process became smoother. The only challenging moment was moving Lin Zhongsheng's body, which they managed to handle despite their discomfort. The rest of the bodies posed no further difficulty.

After moving all seven bodies, the area in front of Lin Ran's door was covered in blood.

Wang Wuyang looked at Ye Li and said, "There's too much blood. Let's get a bucket. What about the blood on the walls?"

Ye Li thought for a moment and said, "We still have some leftover wallpaper at home. We can cover the blood on the walls with it. Also, let's bring some air freshener to mask the smell of blood."

"Alright, let's do that," Wang Wuyang agreed, and they quickly returned home to get the necessary items, including large absorbent bed sheets. Back at Lin Ran's door, they used towels and bed sheets to soak up the blood on the floor, wringing the towels into the bucket. Soon, most of the blood was cleaned up.

Ye Li worked meticulously. On the final round, she cleaned their shoes and wiped the floor until there was no trace of blood left. The doors were also cleaned thoroughly, and the blood on the walls was covered with wallpaper.

When they finished, it looked as if nothing had happened.

Ye Li sighed in relief and smiled at Wang Wuyang. They sprayed air freshener around Lin Ran's door, reducing the smell of blood.

As they worked, others in the building began to come out and move bodies too. Wu Qi from 1104 and his wife joined in after hearing Wang Wuyang and Ye Li. Only three households in the building were willing to trade labor for supplies.

Watching the screen, Lin Ran said helplessly, "Some people just want to sit back and reap the benefits. Moving bodies to get supplies isn’t much to ask, but they still refuse. Even in the apocalypse, they expect others to bring supplies to their door."

"The apocalypse?" Mo Shuyu repeated. Although she had come back from the hospital with Lin Ran and was well aware of the outside situation, she still subconsciously didn't want to admit that it was the end of the world. But reality kept reminding her that it indeed was.
