Lin Ran noticed their movements and stood up, gripping her Tang sword with her right hand.
Mo Shuyu frowned deeply, looking at the two of them, "Are you planning to rob us?"
"Dr. Mo, it's not robbery. It's reasonable resource distribution. Otherwise, we won't survive long," Ren Mingju said, confident that he and Wang Zhongkun, both male alphas, could overpower Lin Ran, who appeared to be an alpha but was injured.
Lin Ran smiled, "I've never seen such shameless people. Saying noble things while doing despicable acts. Let's see who can take my stuff today."
With that, Lin Ran raised her Tang sword towards them.
"You can't be so selfish. Dr. Mo's girlfriend, right? We've already searched this office and only found a few pieces of chocolate and a pack of biscuits. How can we share that? Be considerate of us," Wang Zhongkun rambled.
As he spoke, Ren Mingju tried to seize Lin Ran's sword. But Lin Ran, having been a bodyguard for years, was quick to sense danger. She dodged and swung her sword, slashing Ren Mingju across the chest.
Blood from Ren Mingju's wound splattered onto Lin Ran. She kicked him hard, sending him flying across the room.
Wang Zhongkun, scared out of his wits by Lin Ran, ran back in a panic, not even daring to help Ren Mingju. "Damn, she really dares to use a knife," he muttered, trembling.
Lin Ran coldly watched the group from several steps away, then shifted her gaze to the fallen Ren Mingju.
Ren Mingju, veins bulging from the pain, pointed at Lin Ran. "You... you really dared to do it. Director Kang, it hurts... help me... help me..."
Director Kang, shocked by Lin Ran's action, quickly moved to hide behind Wang Zhongkun and Zhang Fan. Only the nurse, Peng Xiaoxiao, seeing Ren Mingju down, hurriedly searched the office drawer for medical gauze to help him.
Lin Ran looked over coldly and said, "My knife is stained with zombie blood. I just cut him, and I don't know if it will cause a mutation. Don't say I didn't warn you."
Ignoring the reactions of the others, Lin Ran sat back down, placing her bloody Tang sword beside her.
Mo Shuyu glanced at the struggling Ren Mingju on the floor, then quietly sat down next to Lin Ran. Lin Ran had acted forcefully, but she wasn't wrong; Ren Mingju had tried to rob them first. Having gone through life-and-death situations that afternoon, Mo Shuyu knew how crucial their supplies were.
She took out wet wipes from her backpack and gently wiped the blood off Lin Ran's neck and face. Seeing that Lin Ran's hand wound was bleeding again, she said, "Rest well, and try not to use your hand."
Lin Ran nodded. It wasn't that she didn't want to rest; it was just that someone was always looking for trouble.
Peng Xiaoxiao, frightened by Lin Ran's warning, backed away from Ren Mingju and stood beside Zhang Fan, asking in a trembling voice, "Director Kang, what should we do?"
"Don't panic, everyone. Don't panic," Kang Libo said, though his own voice was shaking.
"Director, help me! It hurts so much! Help me!" Ren Mingju's cries continued, but Kang Libo and the others remained motionless.
"Ren Mingju, it's not that I don't want to save you, but we don't know what's happening to you. I can't risk everyone's lives. Hang in there, if you're fine in ten or twenty minutes, we'll come and help you," Kang Libo said, trying to pacify him.
"Twenty minutes? Director Kang, I might not be alive by then," Ren Mingju felt his life slipping away, a strange sensation spreading through his body, making him feel disconnected from it.
