Lin Ran looked at the blood outside, feeling a headache. She would need to find an old bedsheet to clean up the blood, or else the smell would be unbearable in the summer.

With a thought, a Tang sword appeared in Lin Ran’s right hand. She looked at Mo Shuyu and said, "Don’t go outside. They just turned into zombies; be careful of getting blood on you. Also, get me an old piece of clothing or a bedsheet. I’ll clean up after dealing with the zombies."

"Alright, I’ll go get it." Mo Shuyu nodded, quickly fetching an old towel and returning to the security door in the living room.

By then, Lin Ran had already rushed out. The area at the door was narrow and slippery with blood. Lin Ran kicked Lin Zhongsheng, sending him crashing into the zombies behind him, blocking them. She took the opportunity to swing her sword, first taking down Lin Lei.

After Lin Lei fell, Wang Hao charged at Lin Ran. She swung her sword, severing his spine. Somehow, after turning into a zombie, Wang Hao’s blood had become foul, quickly emitting a stench that clung to Lin Ran.

Despite the smell, Lin Ran focused on the task at hand. Lin Zhongsheng and the other four zombies also lunged at her.

Fortunately, Lin Ran was quick. She kicked the zombies in front of her, sending some flying into the wall, where they slid down.

Lin Ran took the opportunity to raise her arms high and swing at Lin Zhongsheng's neck. With a crisp crack, Lin Zhongsheng fell to the ground.

The same fate befell the remaining zombies. Lin Ran’s blade was as quick as lightning, slashing through the zombies one after another. Soon, there was no more movement in the hallway. Lin Ran was covered in the foul-smelling blood of the zombies, with splatters all over her face and body. The floor at the entrance was similarly drenched in the rancid blood of the zombies.

Lin Ran reached out and opened the security door. As soon as the door opened, the stench hit Mo Shuyu’s nose.

Mo Shuyu quickly handed over the towel, almost gagging from the smell.

Lin Ran wasn’t feeling any better and hastily wiped the blood off her face and neck with the towel, then began cleaning the rest of her body.

The entrance area was small, and the main door tended to close automatically. In the confined space, the nauseating smell of zombie blood made Lin Ran retch a couple of times.

She waded through the blood to prop the main door open with a brick from the hallway, allowing the stench to dissipate somewhat.

Lin Ran wiped herself down a bit more, removed her shoes at the door, and headed straight to the bedroom.

“By the way, don’t let Ruan Ruan and the others come out yet. I’m afraid the scene at the door will scare them. Let them come out after we’ve cleaned up,” Lin Ran reminded, looking at Mo Shuyu.

“I know, you go take a shower,” Mo Shuyu replied quickly.

Lin Ran hurried to the bathroom. If she didn’t wash up soon, she’d reek even more. She washed her hair several times with shampoo, did the same with her face using foaming cleanser, and finally felt the stench was gone from her neck.

She then used body wash three times to thoroughly clean the rest of her body.

As Lin Ran showered, she thought about the corpses at the door. There were not only the bodies at the entrance but also over twenty zombie corpses in the hallway, which had started to rot. She had noticed this when she went down to get supplies earlier but hadn’t dealt with it. Moving that many bodies alone was unrealistic.
